Going, we left at 3am and got to DAIL in Exeter in 6 1/2 hours. Coming home we set of at 5:30am and went via Porlock, great route, missed all the traffic until we got to M1 j24 and then it all stopped. Took a detour round bottom on Nottingham :sad:If at first you don't succeed, try, try, try - oh bu99er that just cheat0

I also think it's worth avoiding travelling back on the Sat if possible as most of holiday parks do Sat/sat rental so it seems to be a long procession of touring caravans & mobile homes etc as it is one main route out0

Evening all, probably won't get chance to get on over the weekend as DS 7 his GF coming to stay until Monday evening.
Having a party at home tomorrow to celebrate mum's birthday last Wednesday so will be good to catch up with some family that we don't see very often.
Have a good weekend all and hope the weather stays fine.0 -

Little things make them so happy my Dmum this week got DH to pick up a little matchbox red sports car put 2 x £1 coins at bottom for some petrol a St Christopher medal for cars (she very insistant on him having this for protection as she got my brothers and DH when they passed) all for passing his test, he was secretly chuffed with it lol.0 -

AH - you are right, mum is so excited. She has only got the one grandchild and also she loves to see his GF, as she treats her like a granddaughter, knowing that she makes DS very happy too.
A very old family friend (used to be my nan's best friend) bought my son a St Christopher for his christening when he was only 5 weeks old and he still wears it every day. Says it makes him feel safe.0 -
