    Good morning just :D
We used to play out either on our bikes or down by the river. I remember filling jam jars full of frog spawn amongst other things. I don't know if it is that it is much more dangerous for kids out now due to the weirdos etc around or just that they don't like the simple stuff like we did that they are inside so much.

I can remember skipping games, ball games in the street, making dens near bonfire night with any bits of wood we could find. Riding our bikes.

Todays children need to get out more, even if to play more in their back gardens. Might make them healthier too.

Good Morning CW - thought I might beat you to the first post today as had to be up at 7.00 as expecting call about delivery of new fridge/freezer today. Old one went wrong in the week, tried various things but it would only hold the freezer temperature when on fast freeze so as it was 18 years old decided time for a new one. After a couple of days I emptied the freezer and turned it off overnight. I had to restart it next morning to keep the fridge going & believe it or not has now been working perfectly. Wish I had waited a bit longer before ordering a new one but couldn't take the chance with this hot weather. Bet the new one won't last as well.

Thanks everyone for the good wishes for OH. Now the end of the 2nd week of radiotherapy - only another 5+ to go! He is coping well - just feeling more tired but no other side effects so far.
I made a couple of the men laugh today when I called them "the green men" as they are all given a green plastic carrier bag to use each day when they change before their treatment. It just amused me to see all these men wandering round with their green bags - I know strange sense of humour!

Interesting reading all your childhood memories. I grew up in London and we spent all our time outside. Our various activities went in cycles, so ball playing, then skipping, then roller skating. It was nothing for me to go off for a couple of hours on my roller skates and later my 2nd hand bike.
We would all go off to the local park about 15 minutes away without any adult. I can remember you behaved when you were in the swings, etc as there was a very stern attendant - Mrs Brown - who never allowed any nonsense.
We now live in a close and the children here often play outside - just have to watch the few idiots who drive their cars too fast.

Good morning red, CW and everyone. Red think your humour is similiar to mine :D Good news that your OH is coping and no side effects so far. I hope the 5+ weeks will fly by like this year has. Doesn't seem long since xmas and now we are nearly on the countdown to the next one:cool:
Be thankful for what you have because it could all be taken away tomorrow.;)

Can you keep the old fridge/freezer ina garage or something. Even if you just use it as a booze/drinks fridge rather than scrapping it.

Spoke too soon about it still working - walked into the kitchen and the freezer had started to warm up and I had a puddle on the floor so off for scrap this afternoon when the new one arrives.

Been for a 27 mile bike ride this afternoon. Father's Day meant I could do something for me!
Hope you all had a great weekend :D
