I use amber solaire factor 50. Can I urge everyone to use at least factor 30 - if you value your skin.

Another vote for ambre solaire - I always use factor 30. It's not a heavy one, it's suitable for sensitive skin and it's one of the few that doesn't bring me out in spots. I got my last lot half price in superdrug - they were selling off the older stuff as an updated version has come in.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

The Ambre Solaire Light Milk is good. Doesn't feel at all sticky and has a high SPF.

I am really fair skinned and this works the best of the lot on me. smells a bit strong when it first goes on but I don't burn even at 44 degrees. just have to remember to put it on 15 mins before you go in the sun.
Matalan sell it and I bought factor 40 there last year.

I always buy a much higher factor than I need (need 30 buy 50+). I do this because the amount of sunscreen you need to use to actually achieve the factor stated on the bottle is ridiculous (around 85ml), therefore my theory is use a higher factor as I never put enough on.

I purchased some cheap stuff from tesco the other day (own brand £3 ish) as an emergency measure as I had mislaid my normal bottle. When the other bottle turned up (ambre solaire) I was surprised to find the cheap tesco one actually had a higher UVA rating than the more expensive one.

There's actually no difference between 30 and 50 in terms of protection. ;)
