Best sunscreen? What do you use?

Options
I'm running out of sunscreen, we just picked whatever was on offer before our last holiday and it's horrible. It's greasy, sticky and makes my face shine like a beacon.

What do you use? I'm very pale skinned so need a high factor sunscreen, ideally 30 or 50. Hopefully not too expensive as I need to use it daily so I don't burn to a crisp! :o

I've got factor 30 from Superdrug own brand, its specifically for face and is described as lightweight. It is light, no thicker than a normal day moisturiser and my make up goes on fine on top. I have a fair-medium skintone which is oily in the T-zone and it hasn't made me break out or made my face become an oil slick. S/D have their own brand sun care on better than half price atm.

Thanks, I'll look out for both of those. I had to wear my sticky, greasy one today and although I'm not burnt it made me feel dirty! Not good!

    I've been Money Tipped!
Tried different brands but always go back to Nivea. I've also decided not to use any more of the sprays as they seem very wasteful. I got a good deal in Boots last week, and as I'm fairskinned, I never go below factor 20.

Im using superdrugs own brand as well. Cheap, cheerful and not tested on animals.

A few people have been in the news recently having had allergic reactions to piz buin, some severe, calls for it to be taken off the shelves.

Sorry shinninglikeme but you're missing the point entirely if your suggesting don't use sunscreen just treat sunburn.

First of all sunburn alone isn't the problem, cancer is. No amount of after sun product, chemical or otherwise will prevent cancer.

Sunscreen with UVA and UVB filters will provide protection for you, not only to prevent sunburn but also help prevent cancer. Yes, aloe might be excellent after sun, but that's all.

    Ultrasun family factor 30.

We all use it. It's fantastic. Truly once a day, not greasy, doesn't cause spots, gentle on skin and stops any of us from burning.

Pricey but oh so worth it.

That's only half true. Many sunscreens contain ingredients that can cause cancer.
