I've had an egg money account for over a year and they've never tried to change how i pay mine always the full amount.

Can't really see what they gain from it because as soon as you notice this your going to change it back

I had a similar problem when I first got my Egg Money card. I changed the payment on line to be clearing the entire bill and haven't had any problems since.

Hmmm, i'm not sure if this a glitch or not but this happened to me 3 months ago..changed from fixed payment (£250 a month) to "pay full" and when i last checked it was pay minimum balance. I've had my Egg Money card since they started issuing it.....

Remember once when HBOS leaked a whole load of Halifax credit card account holders e-mail address. I had an e-mail account that I had been using for about 10 months. It was a work related e-mail address.
Never had a single spam e-mail. Anyway having given my e-mail address and linked it to my Halifax credit card (bad move), all was well for about 3 months. Then one night I got two spam e-mail ...they were asking to verify bank account numbers via a supplied web address. Got two of these within five mins of each other. No big deal ...just deleted them. Then within the next hour I got an e-mail from HBOS warning about these type of e-mail. Weird ...so I called their security deptartment....of course they denied they had leaked e-mail address ...yes sure all a coincidence I'm sure ....Get my first spam e-mail ever on this e-mail account and then you guys send out a warning !!!!! First you had ever sent me. They verified warning mail was from them.

Now a couple of years later ...not suprised they leaked e-mail address ...they trust your personal details being sent via the post.

They gain if you don't notice! i.e. they only take the minimum amount then charge you interest on the uncleared balance when you fully intended always to pay off the full balance to avoid interest charges.

I guess the message is (as always) even if you think you know what you asked for when applying, DOUBLE-CHECK in good time before the first payment becomes due (5 day delay for it to be set up).

And this applies to ANY credit card, I guess.

Same here, when I opened my account a couple months back selected pay full balance, when I check my account on the web it said pay minimum balance, which I promptly changed. They did take the full amount from my first statement.

Strange how whenever their is a error in a banking system, it almost always favours the bank.....

I had the same issue with the minimum balance option and changed it to clear the full balance (I had selected the full balance option when signing up).

It's definately worth checking as soon as you get access to your account online.

The same thing happened to me with Capital One, so I called them immediately and they fixed it

Why does this slight of hand not suprise me. Its what you have to do to meet those billion pound profits. Trick your customers.
