3phone(thieves) default and mortgage HELP

Today i found that 3phone has put default on my account
what happen
7 march i call three phone and ask to cancel my contract, he give me a pack code (he sad nothing about but i found later that if you not use pack code contract keeps going)
27 March direct debit taken 37£
29 April direct debit taken 37£(after that i cancel my direct debit thinking that contract has been close and is the last payment
5 June i got a bill for 37£
9 June call to three, they say that account is not been closed as i didn't use pack code i explain him that i have not use the phone from 7 march, and he said i do not need to pay anything and account will be closed
11 June i got bill 1£ so i call them and the guy is sayin i need to pay 70£!!! i complain to him he told me he will call me later after cheking but he did not call me
12 June i call them asking how much i need to pay girl sad 1£ i paid it strait away
1 July bill of 41£ arrives 4 July i call them and pay the bill thinking that's its over whit them
7 July getting email from equifax that my history has benn changes and BANG!!!!!!! there is Default on myt acount frome 3 phone what a f...k
how they can do that i paid all bills what they told me to pay the biggest problem i maid and offer for house and in process for mortgage what should i do please help me

I don't know, but once you cancel the contract you get written confirmation, no ifs and or buts! I have been with 3 and got written confirmation, so why shouldn't you?0

Yes i have not got confirmation but even then when i cancel direct debit and got the paper bill i call them to pay it max i was late 1month and 1bil how they can give me default for that!!!!0

Without confirmation, the contract is not cancelled, worst thing you can do is just cancel the direct debit.0 -
The PAC code will only cancel your contract if another network uses it to transfer your number to them.
if that doesn't happen, then the PAC code expires and the contract isn't canceled.
cancelling your direct debit is never a good idea, this just prevents them from getting payment, as you didn't pay what was owed, they defaulted your account.
doesn't sound like there would be any way to remove the default as you didn't complete the cancelation process0 -

I feel that unless something is in writing, then it should not be trusted under any circumstance.
If this was me personally cancelling something, on behalf of my own company, then it could be assured I would do it, but I'd still pop something in the post/in email to say it's been done.
I've just spoken on another thread about how phone companies need greater regulation, however something I do feel, is that the consumer should chase this up and follow the company's own complaints process, before resorting to cancelling a payment method when there may be something contractually owed on the account.
I do appreciate the angle you've taken on this, however the arguments that have been given suggest to me, that the default is issued correctly and therefore will remain for six years, from the date of default.If yes i will go and hang my self

So example you got water bill and saus on it you need to pay in 10 days and you pay it after 15 days can they put default !!!
I still have had later saying i will be defaulted or not??,0
