Advice please, villa isn't a villa

I think you are doing the right thing.
No point causing a problem while you are there.
I doubt you'll get any satisfaction from the owners but you might be able to leave some comments or a review of the villa which will 'warn' others about the situation. It's your money. Except if it's the governments.0 -
Rented in Moriara few years ago with villa company, when we got there we were located in the basement of a three story villa in two extremely small rooms. When we booked the villa looked fabulous and no mention it was shared, fortunately we always take the brochure with us and in this case all shared villas were indicated in brackets with the number of shared areas, ours had nothing to indicate it was shared. Rep arrived with the usual bull stating that brochure indicated villa was shared but, as I was hiring a car at the time, my Wife produced the brochure and hey presto we were relocated in a far superior villa. I can only suggest that you either check tne brochure( if there is one) or look on the website that you booked through. We always holiday in Villas but usually book through either Villa plus or James Villas and occasionally private individuals, the problem with booking directly with the owner, or through their agents, is that you can never be sure what your getting. My opinion is not to let this ruin the remainder of your holiday and enjoy what time you have left and, as previously suggested, learn from your mistakes, have a good time.0

DH and I were considering a villa rental for the first time this year. The ambiguity in many adverts and pictures really, really put us off. The only reason we were looking at that option was for total seclusion and privacy and were prepared to pay for it, so when looks g for those terms then examining photos to glean it was in fact a semi or a flat...so not totally secluded or private .....over and over again we thought we'd found one only to see there was another lurking or discover on enquiry there was( and when its described as so private we felt a bit nuts at first writing to ask if they really were private......but we were not wrong to!)
Hope you enjoy your holiday op, even if you do get tan lines

I also nowadays always look on google street view and check before booking, one good indication is when it states private pool but I always get confirmation that villas not shared before I book. We booked a great private villa two years ago but it turned out to be overlooked from two villas either side, fortunately they were both empty during our holiday as both my Wife and I prefer our privacy.0

Sorry, insensitive of me to have a go at you.:o It's just that several times you have been asked for the details of the place so that we can help you further by understanding what you seem to have booked. Although you cant post links you can give enough description for people to find it on Owners Direct website. But you still haven't done this.No I just said in my last post that I'm here until next Tuesday and will discuss with owner as we leave and update after that..pls scroll up x the description hasn't changed any since, I did read it properly
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -
I don't want to post the details while I am still here. I know there's a lot of kind people out there who give their time to help..however..there is sadly also plonkers who will think it amusing to click the contact the owners bit on the advert just to cause trouble...and I would prefer that not to happen while they are living upstairs. I will happily post it when we are home next week and please don't think I'm not grateful for people's advice x0
