Assume visitors have gone.

Can you try scanning something and see if it produces a file on the laptop.

Someone had similar problems on the thread linked below, albeit 2 years ago. Looks like the Customer at least got printing back after installing Epson network software & driver package (a little time after trog1959 enters the thread) and eventually got scanning too at least from laptop, not from printer button.

Here's a link to what I think is the relevant software package
https://www.epson.co.uk/gb/en/viewcon/corporatesite/products/mainunits/driver/11504/3/376027
Edit: may be wrong about that package, let me check further :embarasse
Edit2: Ignore software package link above and use

Assuming you think it's worth following advice in that thread of course

Hi thank you lol. Wouldn't it be better if I just uninstalled it and installed it again. I'm not very good at fixing things in case you hadn t noticed.:)0 -
It might be, give it a go.

have you got anywhere with this OP? i've got a new laptop that connected fine to my epson wireless printer when 1st setting up (all automatically, i didn't do anything apart from choose it as the default printer), come today, it just says printer offline & refuses to budge. got a suspicion this is due to a windows8 update so i've reset the laptop back to before the update, uninstalled & reinstalled the printer, checked I've got the latest drivers, connected the laptop to the printer via usb & the drivers install & i can print ok. take away the usb & it loses the printer again - nothing has worked, i just can't get it to connect...
reason i think it's down to a windows update is that for no reason at all my security has been turned off, firewall, anti-virus, everything. i haven't changed anything, but it was straight after an update.
i've had this laptop for 4 days & already hate windows8 with a passion!
edit: just had to reboot after the install of something else. thought i'd give it one last go with the printer before i give up for the night. removed the printer icons that were showing then chose add device (tried this at least 3 times earlier & it didn't work), blow me if it didn't locate the printer & add ok! why? i have no idea at all...BUT, just tried to print & it comes up with error/offline. does anyone know what the correct port is that should be chosen? thinking i might have chosen incorrectly when setting up earlier. clutching at straws now really! (on the printer properties, it is now showing all the correct mac/ip info, it wasn't showing anything earlier).0
