One caveat. I don't know anything about kkid's situation, but these current account applications are credit checked. So if you have poor credit history (eg you've just turned 18 and don't have any previous) they may not accept you. One way to help is to refuse any overdraft or other credit facility on the account when they offer it.
Have a read of some of the articles on this site about credit scoring. You can always have a go applying but, if you get a rejection, freeze. Don't go applying all over the place (which will show on your credit record), because that might prejudice your ability to access student overdrafts and suchlike - which would be worse than a small amount extra on savings for a few months.0
