Turns out that the graphics card was broke anyway so the onboard will do until I buy a new card.

Thank you to everyone who helped with advice for my pc build it's much appreciated.

Sorry to bump an old thread but I have updated the bios on my new PC and was wondering if I would have to re-install windows because of this?

For a BIOS update you should NOT need to reinstall windows!

But I'm unsure if it will trigger an "activation" limit. If enough components of a PC changes it requires the user to re-authorise the machine by going through windows activation again!

    No need to re-install Windows.

Very very slim chance of triggering a reactivation, not worth worrying about.

Thank you very much I was fearing that I would have to reinstall.

My PSU sounds like it's on it's way out it makes a constant noise now and when I switch it on or turn it off it makes a high pitched squealing sound like a car brake being forced to stop.

Knew I should have bought a brand new psu. Live and learn.
