Edit - Scratch that I wont be going with Aria.
So my options are http://www.amazon.co.uk/Gigabyte-Motherboard-4th-Generation-Intel-Core-Processors/dp/B00CXK59S8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1373358671&sr=8-1&keywords=GIGABYTE+GA-Z87-D3HP
Not sure if it comes with a stock cooler? Anyway could someone suggest a cooler to go with it if needed, thanks.
What's the difference? I was just looking for an easy to dismantle case if I am honest :rotfl:Don't get Antec 300. Get Antec 302 if you like the look of it.0 -
Would this be ok for a case?

BitFenix case are alright.
If you don't like the look of Zalman Z5. I suggest you have a look on Zalman Z9 plus and Corsair 200R as well. Those case come with dust filter included, which I found it quite handy as you don't need to open the case to clean up regularly.0 -
Loving the Corsair 200R case so it's either that or the BitFenix one.
My brother has offered to sell me his OCZ ZS Series 550W power supply from his old pc for £20 so that's a saving
So now all I need to know is if that GIGABYTE GA-Z87-D3HP motherboard needs any additional fan/cooler thing for the chip of if the one that comes with the processor will be good enough? Any idea?
Is there any difference between the K and the non-K versions of the intel processors for what i'm using it for?
May buy the lot from overclockers uk0 -
The Stock cooler you get with CPU's are generally not that great! they are functional but can be noisy and not that great at cooling.
Take a look at Coolermaster, Antec, Thermaltake etc... heat sink and fans. they are usually very quiet and do a better job at cooling the CPU than the stock heatsink and fan.
Or the corsair Liquid CPU cooler I have.
you could get creative with case fans. if you have a good CPU heatsink and fan you can use a couple of 80mm (or 120mm if you have a big case!) fans to pull air into the front of the case and push it out the back.Laters

If you do have the spare cash, it is worth spending on a nice case. Not just because it's pretty to look at but because a well designed case will be easier to work on.
In the past I've always had cheapo cases, but this time around I went for a Nanoxia deep silence case. The resulting build was so much more pleasant.
(In true MSE style that's a second hand board+CPU I picked up cheap and everything else except the cooler is recycled from my previous PC)0 -
Well my pc parts arrived today and I managed to get it built up and running in under an hour which considering that it was my first build I am pretty happy.
Cable management was a bit of a nightmare but a few cable ties later and it's as nice as I could make it.
The PC is quiet and the case was easy to work with and I ended up buying a slight and I mean slight dented case from the local PC shop for £20 and I traded a few old CD's with my brother for the power supply so savings all around

Protip: No cable ties until you're 100% certain everything works perfect.
Then throw away your cable ties and use velcro straps.
Anyway, congrats and also post pics so sad !!!!!!!s like me can take a nose at your work

Haha I am in the middle of re-routing wires so excuse the mess

All the front ports work as they should, the drives all work and the bios is on the newest version.
I chose best settings or something along that line in the bios because I wasn't sure of the options.
I placed the power fan side down as the case manual said it was fine either way.....hope that was right?0 -
Looks fine to me, you've got the front/bottom fans blowing in and the rear/top fans blowing out, and there's not really much scope for neat wiring with that design of case, so just cable-tie/velcro them out of the airflow as best as possible which it sounds like you're doing anyway.
It's all good fun, though it can be an expensive hobby if you aren't careful.
If I wanted to be really really nit-picky there's a small chance that CPU fan cable could end up getting caught in the fan and become noisy or get damaged. Might want to wrap it around something and secure it.
Next time you replace your case (which if you're like me will likely be in 6 or 7 years), get one that lets you route cables behind the motherboard tray as then you can hide the mess and don't need cable ties.0
