Going to maldives and have a few questions

we didn't get any jabs, and are still recieving contradictory replies.
The obvious thing to do is for us to visit our travel clinic at the doctors and ask them. Apparantly, some people have hep a + b and also get their polio renewed etc.
As disgusting as this sounds, I have heard people say to get hep b as it is quite common over there. Apparantly the cleaners are interested in things like electric razors and electric toothbrushes, and try them outpassing on the diesease. Personally, I wonder if it's businessmen paying a little too many tips and getting "extra service" if you know what i mean!
embarrassed to say I used to work for barclays..sorry0 -

Decisions, decisions....
I would recommend 2 weeks if you can afford it. Most of the cost is the flight so if you work out the cost per day based on a 7 night trip vs a14 night trip, the 2 weeks are a bargain !! :-)
Having said that remember to include the extra holiday costs which could be double, for example parking at the airport (and for us cattery boarding)
The flight is very long so depending on how well you travel and deal with jetlag you may take a day to recover before you start to enjoy your holidayHOW MUCH CAN YOU SAVE?: OLYMPIC CHALLENGE 2007BRONZE 10% SILVER 25% GOLD 50% PLATINUM 75%January 7%February 13%March 20%April 27%May 32%June 39%July 45%August 54%September 62%October 68%0 -
get dollars for everything, me and me wife going in 4 weeks for the 3rd time ,back to same island,( one of the smallest) just cant wait. dont worry about shoes or sandals too much ,you shouldnt need any, unless you take a trip to male, someone on here said about wearing something on your feet as the coral can be sharp . PLEASE DO NOT WALK OR TOUCH THE CORAL AT ALL, IT WILL HELP KILL IT OFF IF YOU DO. and someone said about not taking food in for the fish as schools of fish attract sharks, and they may come for you. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE FOOD FOR FISH AT ALL ,AS THEY COME TO RELY ON IT AND WILL NOT BE ABLE TO FEND FOR THEMSELVES. HELP SAVE THE MALDIVES.0

great thread we have just booked centara grand island resort for 22nd nov so some of these tips are great
we have brought snorkelling equipment when we first started looking a maldives few months ago we got a set from sport and soccer for £16 for mine and £20 for husband (i had youth set as small feet!!) they were half price and come in a zip up bag, mask, flippers and snorkel - mouth piece thingy.
must get ourselves some water shoes as well by sounds of it.
one thing we had been advised is if you like snacks like crisps/pringles/tortilla type things pack some in suitcase as can be expensive on island.
take lots suncream we are going for 9 nights and have brought 3 bottles - one factor 35 and 2 bottles of factor 20 and have 2 bottles of after sun.
dont take lots of dressy clothes as not neccesary to dress up too much for dinner, likewise no need to take shoes esp high heels.0 -
