Cancelling Orange contract early

I am having a nightmare with Orange! Their customer service has deteriorated severely since they got into bed with EE.
To cut a long story short they've accidentally cut me off, I've made umpteen calls to them including one lasting 35 minutes on another mobile from France. It's impossible to get through to them on the phone without waiting at least 10 minutes for them to answer the phone. I've been told my line should be back on again within FIVE DAYS! I want to tell them what they can do with my contract which has another 14 months to run. I'd like to just cancel my direct debit but I need the code from them to port my number to a new supplier.
I believe I have enough evidence to prove that I'm not getting an acceptable level of service.
Any advice please??
I cannot use my phone, am I able to cancel my contract and obtain the code to port my number without being clobbered for the remaining term of my contract?

Not to sure what you can do apart from complain

Don't what ever you do cancel your DD because you will screw your credit rating up unless it doesn't matter to you.

Your post doesnt really give enough detail to fully comment on, but on point, if you are using the phone abroad there is nothing forcing them to offer you a roaming service, it's an added extra service subject to status (amongst other things). They can decline your use abroad altogether, allow it with a cash security deposit, or allow it, and you have no "right" to demand it be offered.

My problem has nothing to do with roaming. I work in France, I only mentioned the international call because it probably cost me around 10 quid just to find out why they'd cut me off

So what happened to make them accidentally cut you off?

If that was relevant I would have explained before but if you must know I was offered a new contract with EE which I declined however they sent me a new EE sim card anyway, I called Orange & told them I didn't want the new contract and they said sorry just throw the new sim card away. 3 weeks later my phone was cut off, they had transfered my account to the new EE sim card which I never wanted in the first place and now I must wait until they reconnect my old sim card, in the meantime I can't use my phone, now do me a favour will you d123 - GO AWAY!

Oh dear, OP asks for help then gets rude, abusive and defensive. How charming.

It would appear OP is actually just an idiot wanting to rant and not actually here to solve his/her problem.

Oh well, lets hope Orange stick it to him/her then.

/end thread (as far as I'm concerned).

Nooo! I need to get my two penneth's worth in but just wanted to say (and I know from experience cos I used to work for Orange) that OP has only 2 "hopes" of getting them to cancel the contract. At best they will probably give OP a free month!

As with all complaints register it with the regulator Ofcom, get a reference number & contact the chief executives office, they ALL hate Ofcom RECORDED complaints, it means they cant hide behind smoke an mirrors when Ofcom releases data on satisfaction performance of its licencee's. Which are hidden by complaints CODE OF CONDUCT that was approved by Ofcom - you scratch my back...
SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe ;)
