Is this the second job they were coming back to do?

Did you get any money back off them, or are you still holding onto the second cheque?

I stopped one of the cheques. The reason i stopped the cheque was to guarantee he would come back at some stage. If they had cashed the cheques, what chance of them returning.

He's said he does not want the second job unless i replace all the ceiling & coving.
if i had known then what i know now

I think he is being a prize D***, surely he knew what the lounge entailed when he came before, so why now is he refusing it?

Is it because he knows he cant do a decent job?, one mistake or kock-up is allowed sometimes, but two for the same person, he would never live that down.

you are better off without someone like him, and thank god you stopped the second cheque, hopefully you can someone in who wont give you the runaround.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.:D

£100 for the lounge, not having used a plasterer before it sounded really good. It's L shaped & the longest wall is 24'.
£100 to do what?............. just the ceiling?
  • I have stopped one of there cheque's. Just got home & the bloke is not happy, said they would be round tomorrow night to look at the problem & to have a chat. Sounds a bit sinister.

OH YEAH! Got any overweight mates, ? with short necks.

I've been getting a couple of ceilings priced up recently (covering over "fanned" artex), and £100 seems cheap for a big room for a two or three layer skim.

Anyway, he sounds like a Yee Hah merchant - leaving trowel marks. The mess? Well they always leave some mess, but that seems a little OTT.

So the person that recommended them was a friend????
