Lloyds Bank getting rid of paying-in books ?

For many years, Lloyds haven't issued paying-in books, though you could always get one if you asked. And I did ask, because I prefer them.
What they have been issuing instead, by default, is a chequebook with 25 cheques and 5 paying-in slips at the back of the same book.
But I prefer to have cheques in one book and paying-in slips in another.
I haven't been told this has changed, but the only way you'll find out is to ask for a new paying-in book!0 -

It was just an example, I have the full financial history since 2006 (when I started) for every bank I have an account with, including all savings accounts. Every transaction has a memo - eg. reason for that tranasction, if a deposit who from, etc.
Paying in books are fine, but they only show one side of the story. I prefer to have detailed history on every transaction, so I can show my salary going in and exactly what happened to it, what was transferred where, what bills were paid, etc.0 -
I paid a cheque into my personal current account on Thursday (3 days ago) and the cashier took the new book reminder slip out of my paying in book and asked if I would like her to order a new one - no mention of them being discontinued.0

I just use Excel. I've never found any of these finance packages to do what I want easily enough (i.e. take away my bills each month and leave me with an amount left to spend, while projecting credit card and loan repayments to allow me to figure out a payment plan for the future.) Meanwhile, my spreadsheet does, and I can play around with it as much as I want.urs sinserly,

Similar here. I have each and every transaction on all of my current, savings and investment accounts, in MS Money, back to 2001.
Although it hasn't been commercially available for many years now (for unfathomable reasons), you can still get MS Money from Amazon, and I can thoroughly recommend its functionality. There may be more modern money managers around these days - - worth checking out. All the ones I have checked won't offer me a decent migration from MS Money so I haven't bothered to pursue migration.0 -

There might be a commercial oppty for you ;-)
Because the demise of MS Money has left a huge void in the market. Having said this, MS Money still does a pretty good job, and it isn't much more than a spreadsheet - -- but a very, very good one at that. Any alternative spreadsheet needed to have a heck of a lot of macros - - but it could also a heck of a lot of new functionality.0 -

Honestly, I looked into writing a money/budgeting application along the lines I want, but it wouldn't ever be as flexible or as easy to use as my spreadsheet is. And having Excel on my phone basically seals the deal.urs sinserly,

Last time I deposited funds, I just threw my debit card at the cashier and said "I want this cash in that account"
No need to even give them your card just plunk it in the chip machine and enter your pin and it's all done. They even know who you are on the other side of the counter and greet you by name in LTSB. Amazing technology.0 -

My mum confuses them...she doesn't have a debit card, nor even a cashpoint card as she doesn't trust them, if she wants money from her account, she visits the bank and takes money out.
And yes, she still uses paying in slips.......
I've tried to get her to have a card, the bank have tried to get her to have a card and my dad has tried (he has a debit card) but no deal, she doesn't like them so she isn't having one!We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0
