Living in a Caravan – 4 years to the Good Life

Weve done this twice when we were renovating houses, first time we were parked up beside the old house, not a pleasant experience in the wintertime. Second time we got the caravan in a shed beside the site. I have sworn i will never sleep in a caravan again !
Might be a bitty warmer and less windy in your part of the country tho ! Good luck
Its just a bad day, Not a bad life .. :cool:0 -

I love the idea of living in a caravan with a dog.
Can't figure out how to do it but still!
Longships, lots of luck and sunny weather for you xxxNevertheless she persisted.0 -
most people who work on the caravan sites as poster oh does get the pitch free for the season and the site owners as in his employers pay the council tax ,i've looked as part of my future keep fit retirement plan we have a tourer and love it .good luck longships we went to devon last year for 2 weeks and kents caverns was the driest place we found lol
Exactly! There are quite a few staff who live on site here.Thank-you to everyone who posts comps :beer:0 -
Yesterday was a work (cleaning) day – not too bad considering the boiling temperatures. I also received a payment from Amazon for commission on things sold a couple of months ago. In this internet age of instant payments and bank transfers, Amazon still insists on paying its UK associates by cheque in US dollars so it will be a week or two before the payment actually lands in my bank account and I know exactly how much it is.
The sun brings out a range of campers and caravanners – everything from those with tiny pop-up tents to the people with brand new, huge caravans, equipped with remote control satellite dishes, enormous solar panels and all the latest kit who will then spend the next week sitting in their caravans watching tv!
We had to invest in a new awning – the previous one that came with the caravan having been torn to shreds by the Cornish gales. I was amazed to discover that there are new designs for awnings every year and that if you are not fussy about awning fashions you can get last year’s model for hundreds less than the new style for 2013 – can anyone seriously tell the difference? We settled for an unfashionable one from last year and are very happy with it.
Today is a day off, which means I will be doing laundry, grocery shopping and maybe get around to unpacking one of the miscellaneous boxes of stuff still sitting in the back of the car. Working on my websites is probably going to be put off (again) for another day.Thank-you to everyone who posts comps :beer:0 -
Have you lived in a caravan before? I ask as I did so many years ago and wouldn't recommend it, good luck to you though that's one way to defeat the debt

We did it before for a year - half in a static and half in our tourer - and loved it
Thank-you to everyone who posts comps :beer:0 -
Good luck longships, we are in Devon and can seriously imagine you sitting in your caravan in Cornwall!
mmm, *rubs chin thinking this may be a good plan for us to save a deposit for a house*

The comment wasn't aimed at yourself.Who said I didn't need advice?I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.0 -
thought this might be an interesting read
