Mike as far as i know(dont quote me on this though) the delivery charge is around the £4 mark! and it seems to be working as well, 2 others have started in glasgow, belfast etc: seems to becoming big business!
and another started in london last week as well!

I wonder how the London one will work. I wonder if people will just cover one borough. If you have to go into the congestion charge zone that's going to eat into those profits. I wouldn't fancy anyone's chances of getting fast food to someone's door without it going cold in London! I think I'd just ring for a pizza if I was that desperate for food!0 -

The webpage says they deliver on Saturdays and Sundays and the Congestion Charge does not operate on those days.0 -

Cant see it taking off around here, this is folk being lazy to an extreme. How many people stay more than a couple miles from the nearest shop(walking distance) Costs will mean its not worth it unless not declaring income.:eek:Living frugally at 24
Increase net worth £30k in 2016 : http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?p=69797771#post697977710 -

You could say it is people being lazy! but a lot of people will order Chinese deliveries etc at night is that being lazy too? but most of us do it!
I dont see any cost doing this except fuel!
I myself used to deliver chinese deliveries and could do 40 deliveries a night on £15 of fuel so it can be done doing 100@£4 deliveries on £50 fuel will still leave £350 less tax etc but would still leave you with well over £200 for a weekends work!
It is a weekend business not full time!0 -
If you're already in the fast food deliveries game and have the vehicle and insurance, it's a bit of a sideline on an otherwise dead spot - but on its own I can see it working out to a lot of hassle for not much reward. The demand will be all at once within a few hours, and if you bring someone a cold eggymuffinthing I can't see them being thrilled.
ETA - how about a cold pizza hangover delivery service ;-)0 -
I've seen some buzz about this on FB for the cardiff area.
Short memories I guess. We had a company here already that did exactly whats advertised a few years ago but it didn't make enough money, delays such as long queues at drive thru's couldn't be accounted for, availability of items wasn't known and things like mcdonalds products degrade pretty badly through travel.
AFAIK mcdonalds and others don't deliver themselves because they don't want their name associated with the end result of soggy food etc0 -
This sounds like a good idea and something you could make a few quid with on a Saturday and Morning, but certainly not a large or scaleable business.
You would have to factor in your time, fuel and car depreciation before seeing how much you could make, but nevertheless, fast food, fags and soft drinks are decent remedies for feeling rough

Very true it is a way for someone who cant find a job, starting up something like this would create a job for themselves! and only working weekends!0 -

A lot of delivery drivers have cool/hot boxes in their vehicles now days so food being cold soggy is a thing of the past! even drinks are keep cool!
they could also deliver in one of these!
