are you on the electoral roll, and is that showing correctly on the credit reports ?
also, do all the accounts show your current address?0 -
It could be because you already tried for a credit card
Did you get the card?
How long ago did you apply for the card?
If within a couple of weeks that could be your problem
I don't know if its still the same but i tried for 2 phones in 2 different shops
I got the first one no problem and was refused the second one
When i ask why a person in Car phone warehouse told me its because i was applying to soon leave it for 4mths and everything will be ok
I did that and got the second phone straight away with no problems.Nobody is Perfect. I am Nobody, therefore I am Perfect.

All pure speculation. I ordered two contracts in a week and got both. If the credit file is clean just apply for the mortgage; the reason for the decline on the mobile is unlikely to affect it.0

It's a good idea to avoid applying for any other credit in the run-up to a mortgage application. Taking on any new credit commitment is likely to put a small dent in your credit rating, for a few months. If you have an excellent credit history this may not be significant, but best to not take the chance if you can avoid it.

Hello all
I applied for a new iPhone contract with phones 4 u. They said my credit wasn't good enough to get the deal. I have checked my credit files are there is no problem. I pay everything by DD and haven't missed any payments since 2006. I was just about to apply for a remortgage, now I'm worried that because I can't get a £20 per month phone account they won't accept me for a mortgage.
Any advice gratefully received.
B
Just for reference:
Checking your credit file is a good thing to do in this situation but it's also good to check the details submitted by P4U in case of spelling mistakes, omissions etc. Human error in these situations is common.0
