Refused contract with phones 4 u
Hello all
I applied for a new iPhone contract with phones 4 u. They said my credit wasn't good enough to get the deal. I have checked my credit files are there is no problem. I pay everything by DD and haven't missed any payments since 2006. I was just about to apply for a remortgage, now I'm worried that because I can't get a £20 per month phone account they won't accept me for a mortgage.
Any advice gratefully received.

Experience is showing 878 and says this is because I recently applied for a credit card. I wanted one with no fees to use overseas.0

giving your scores is meaningless.
its whats on your files that matters.
if you have just recently applied for a credit card, then this could have an effect on your mortgage application0 -
Mortgages are secured against the property so carry less risk. Each creditor has their own criteria, so it doesn't follow that a mortgage wouldn't be forthcoming. I have an excellent credit record with no blemishes, but was recently turned down by a credit card provider specialising in higher-risk people; shortly afterwards a much more conservative lender gave me a credit card with a limit of over 5k. Although I can speculate as to why there was a completely different response to the applications, you will never see what different lenders' criteria are or what logic they use.0

As Cycrow says, the made up numbers mean absolutely nothing.
Is there anything detrimental anywhere in the report, late payments? Financial links to others?====0 -
I had 5 late payments on there from 2010, a Santander !!!! up on an account that was never opened properly. These were removed before I applied for the account. There is nothing else untoward on any of the files.
I'm really confused and a bit frustrated.
Thanks for everyone's help :-)0 -

The 5 late payments were removed from your credit file, or they are actually still on there?0
