Between the top leaders of tablets, if you take the price and the name badge out most compare around equally, better in some spots, worse in others.
Preference is key.
If you've never used a tablet then the first you use will be fabulous and you will probably want to gravitate towards that brand/type here on afterwards.
(assuming you get a decent tablet, not a cheapy job with cheapy components)
if you have apple half the job is already done, but be aware if you're thinking we've bought app on the iphone, it'll work on ipad... Not necessarily. It might work in 2x zoom (which rarely is programmed to be anything but zooming in 2 times) and you might have to buy HD apps instead. But for ease of use I guess iphone to ipad is easier, rather than iphone to android in terms of pick up and use.0 -
The marvellous thing about Apple products is that texts, ie iMessages, are free to another Apple user anywhere in the world. (wifi permitting of course)Member #14 of SKI-ers club

iPads are great, I'm sure he will love it.
My only advice is to buy it as close to his birthday as you can. There is no shortage in supply. Lots of places sell them. And there's always a small chance the price may come down before then if they bring out a new model. And the warranty will last longer once he starts using it. No point having a wrapped iPad gathering dust waiting for his birthday.MSE aim: more thanks than posts :j0 -
I bought refurbed iPad direct from the apple website cheaper than a new one and just as good. They come with anew case, screen and battery so virtually a new machine. I run a small business and it is indispensable for work and couldn't be without it now.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0
