  • Unfortunately I haven't actually been able to pay any of it yet...... The loan payment should have come out today, but hasn't gone thru (even tho I have reduced my sig), one CC statement was also due today, but nothing showing online yet, and the other statement isn't due till the 9th, but will be cleared once it does come thru....
I end up wishing the month away so that I can get things paid!

Typical... Sarah i did the last sentance all last year. I said that i wouldnt do it this year but i am sadly  I guess that is a positive and negative thing but its sad when you look back at teh end of the year and wonder where it went.

Anyways how was the wedding? did you enjoy yourself?
  • The wedding was very good..... the vicar was Irish and absolutely brilliant, he had a wicked SOH. SiL sang in the church.... have heard her sing before, but not like that! She sang Ave Maria and it reduced most of the congregation to tears, she is amazing! Connor was brill tho, sat thru the whole service chatting away to himself, had a quick half hour kip in the pushchair at dinner time, then basically spent the rest of the evening crawling all over the place. We came home fairly early, as C was getting tired.... I was gonna come home on my own with him, but OH wouldn't have been able to get home (too expensive to taxi from where the reception was) so he came with me, and dropped him off at the RBL on the way (he can taxi home from there for £8).
*Hopefully* that means he won't spend as much money as I thought he would... but snooker season finishes on Wed so I'm hoping he stays in a bit more - I do like the time on my own, but not ALL the time!
He did put £20 of fuel into the car for me, which was good....
Just got the Mother's Day lunch to do tomorrow, plus it's OH's birthday.....

  • Awww not too bad then. Shame that you oh didnt come home with you, you could have had a nice evening together. Hope you enjoy your meal tommorow :D
  • I don't mind too much, I'm exhausted anyways.... I was here late last night, OH woke me up at 0200 when he came in from work, then fell asleep with the tv on.... that woke me up about 0400, so I switched it off, only tow be woken up again at 0530 to find that OH had got up and switched it on again!
Thankfully, as OH had loads of sleep yesterday daytime, he got up with Connor this morning and took him out, so I got a bit of a lie-in.... still tired tho! Will try to catch up tomorrow if I can....

Hi Sarah, sounds like youve had a busy week, and sounds like you will have an even more productive month with all that spare cash to throw at the debts.

I was reading in the Oxford Times this week that Ox City council are putting ouncil tax up by 4%, so I assume it will be similar countywide. Incedently our council tax is £124 per month over 10 months so very similar to yours, and a 4% rise is only another fiver.

I so know what you mean about wishing the month away. My proper LBM was just before Christmas and I was wishing away the year so I could start the new year as a debt buster, and for both Jan and Feb I have wished away the last week of the month because I am eager to finalise my spreadsheets and totals.

Thanks Sassamac.... Our council is SODC but I don't expect the rise would be much different.... an extra £5 a month I can handle! I am in two minds whether to put mine to 12 months this year.... I do rather enjoy the two 'free' months at the end of the year tho, so I think I might leave it the same for now...

I love playing with my spread sheets too..... The problem I have is that we are paid four-weekly rather than monthly, so even if I had all the DDs going out on the same date, I would still have to wait for that date to come.....

Have paid £153.36 off CC2 today as the online statement appeared overnight :D Just have to wait for the 9th for CC1 statement so I can clear that one.....

I debated whether or not to switch to 12 too but have decided I will. Paying over 12 saves £22.50 per month (based on the 4% rise) and as it happens our water bill is £33 over 8 months so would be £22 over 12. So effectively switching is paying both bills for the same outgoings as just the CT, but obviously not having spare months. I just figured its effectively £33 spare every month to throw at the debts and Id rather have that sooner than later.
  • Thats a very good point! I will have to look into ours..... although our water is over 12 months anyway, I will have to look and see what the 'spare' bit each month would do to our DFD, esp as by the time the next 'free' months come round, I hope to be DF anyway!

  • Grrrr - not happy now!

Just been having a 'wander' round the Sky website (yes we have Sky, and no, OH won't get rid of it!) and found something that I am not happy with!!!
About 4 months ago, I asked OH to phne up and 'cancel' Sky so we could get the package cheaper..... they offered him a 'deal' which was BB, HD-tv (full package) and phone all for £75pm....... I have just looked on the site and we should only be paying £60   Its £50 for the full Skyworld package, BB and phone plus £10 for the HD...... Yeah yeah, I know we shouldn't have Sky at all, but OH wouldn't give it up, so he pays for it! Must get him on the case tomorrow!
