Maybe the benefits ppl just havent caught up to the new rules so thanks i will be in touch with them and se what they say

It isn't as the post 16 can be on apprenticeship in which case they are not entitled to CTC or CB0 -

people remembering that they need to do something about it some months or years down the line.
Human nature being what it is, it turns out that's not a very efficient way of doing things, hence situations like the one described. That was previously appreciated by those administering the system, hence the enquiries going out at the time of the potential change.
I believe driving licence renewal reminders are sent out and the TV licencing people do the same.
Everyone knows when their licences expire so there should be no need of reminders but they are still issued because it's known what happens if they're not.

I have the same thing DS had just turned 16 and will be going to College in September, I did mention it when i got my renewal but was told to inform within 4 weeks of this time incase of any further changes ? so I will do that0 -
they DO tell each other, I called a couple of weeks ago to stop my CB and they told me no need to call TC as it was done at same time. And sure enough new reward notice for both CB and CTC has come thru.
