I bought a parkray for my house in England - and paid about £700.00.
then I bought one for my french house, didn't want to spend as much and bought this:

It is so much better that I am considering taking out the one at home and replacing it!
I'm not on commission or anything, but thought I'd point out that price is no indicator. My french one is awesome - it boils kettles, heats water in pans on the top - it even cooks casseroles if I stand the pan on it whilst we are busy.
We are really pleased with it.
Is that the only reason you think its better because the top get hot to cook on ? Some stoves have convecting tops which means they transfer a lot of heat to the air and have a double top which means it will not be able to boil a kettle but will convect a lot of heat. Not seem many Parkray stoves so not sure if its on of them, the ones I have seen are fairly basic designs and could be improved, much like the chinese one from Machine Mart0 -
I've got a Morso squirrel that is donkeys years old and still going strong. Parts are easy to source so i expect it to run for a few years more yet. The Clearview stoves look good and i'd consider them if i was going to replace.0

We made the choice to go cheap and chinese and got stung. The stove door shattered when we closed it a bit too hard. Not a nice experiece! We replaced with a British built Vesta V6 and are made up. No problems and there only made 7 miles from us.Hi all,
Isnt it interesting, you got to two different shops and get totally different opinions depending on what they sell. Anyway, we have been looking around and quite liked the looks of either the Pevex Bohemia x40 Cube Stove and the Fireline FX5W.
There are a few reviews around the internet on alternatives in the Pevex Range but little on the Fireline. Phoning a shop for a quote on the Fireline and was told they wouldnt sell them as they are cheap chinese rubbish!
Can any body pass any comments/experience on either of the above?
Many thanks0
