APCOA Luton Airport

I too received a PCN following an incident on 2 July. Had been ignoring it and have had correspondence from Roxburghe advising charge now at £128 and could rise to £207.25.
Have had two phone calls and numerous texts (how they got my mobile number I do not know!).
I have recorded the telephone conversations where they ask to confirm my name - which I do not and they refuse to talk further unless I go through security questions. This I refuse on the basis that I have not given them any information about me so why would agree to confirm something I have not provided. They eventually give up.
My incident relates to pulling of the roundabout before the drop off point because my vehicle started to hesitate - I did not want to cause a traffic problem. I then proceeded to drive round the bus stop/coach area when I was stopped by an APCOA employee and advised that I was in a restricted area - he directed us to the drop off point where we duly paid our £2 etc.
The Notice refers to failing to park in a designated area - which clearly we did.
I was impressed by the letter posted on the forum by Tallone 18/10/13 and sent a suitably amended copy.
All in all no worries as - apart from other failures as indicated in the letter - PCN was dated by them 19 July 13, 17 days after event on 2 July 2013 - well outside the 14 day requirement.
Well done and thanks to Forum!!:beer:0 -
Tallone, do you mind if I use your letter as a template for my own Appeal ? I appear to have sinned against APCOA in a similar manner !!0

Best if you used it as a basis for your appeal but modified it sufficiently to, as Louis would say, "make it your own".0 -
I received a PCN with "date of issue 20/09/13" actually received by post 27/09/13 following an incident on 25/08/13. Had been ignoring it and have had correspondence from Roxburghe advising charge now at £128.
We had already delivered my son and grandson 30 mins previously and had paid the outragous £16 car park fee whilst we all walked to departures, unfortunately having left the carpark and airport grounds, we then had to return because my son's flight boarding pass was still in my wife's pocket for safe keeping. The incident was a 30 sec stop in the middle of the airport access road adjacent to the little roundabout leading to the Priority and Short Stay car parks where my wife jumped out whilst I drove on.
I was going to ignore the correspondance in line with earlier advice but on re-reading the later advice I have now prepared a letter of response in line with that successful one used by Tallone using the out of date argument - here's hoping.
What I don't understand is how London Luton Airport authorities allow such underhand activities to stangle their passemger access - has anyone made them aware of what is taking place because reading these cases the intensity appears to be increasing.0 -
Please start your own thread Beekay - This one is getting too confused with different people's individual situations and you will get far better advice on a fresh one.0

My husband has received a Parking Charge Notice from Apcoa at Luton Airport. We had been given directions to the on airport parking but could not find it. After driving the route about three times and trying other roads my husband pulled into the area where the buses park and got out to ask a driver of a bus for directions. The driver did not know. We were not parked, we were there for a matter of 30 seconds or so. The date of the incident was 24/3/14 and the PCN is dated 15/4/14. I have been told to ignore it but I am worried. Can anyone help please0

Please do start at square one and don't pass 'go' until you've read the 'PRIVATE PARKING TICKET? NEWBIES PLEASE READ THIS FIRST!' thread at the top, which gives you your first appeal wording (doesn't matter about the circumstances). It also tells you about the acronyms like 'no GPEOL':
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=163
We have 100% record of winning appeals at POPLA stage, for over a year now.
Four errors you've made:
1. You have only read this little old thread. There are THOUSANDS! You were only ever one click away from page 1 (see my signature below).
2. You ignored it. That's 2012 advice so whoever told you that is over a year out of date.
3. You missed the 'appeal' deadline, should have done within 28 days of that letter - but of course as the sticky thread tells you, send the template first appeal anyway.
4. You need to start your own thread BUT PLEASE ONLY once you've read the NEWBIES thread & others on page one. THIS THREAD IS SOMEONE ELSE'S OLD THREAD.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:
Home»Motoring»Parking Tickets Fines & Parking - read the NEWBIES THREAD0 -
