I watched it too.
I really hate these silly, time-filling attempts at humour that these programmes have.
Martin Lewis's shows were cringe-worthy in that respect - and I feel that it actually detracts from the message they're trying to get across.
Others might find it too dry without that 'humour' though.
I found last night's programme a bit hit-and-miss too.
I'm not sure what I thought about the O2 parking, I didn't even realise that there was a cinema or restaurants there.
It wasn't a big surprise to me that they'd whack up the charge for big concerts.
Was it a 'trick' though? Not sure on that one.
The cinema popcorn bit was a waste of time.
All 3 cinema chains said they allowed people to take their own cold food & non-alcoholic drinks in, so why spend so much time buying popcorn and weighing it?
A bit shocked at some of the 'tricks' at theme parks, but I guess it's not much different to travelling fairs many years ago when they used to glue coconuts down.
Bit pointless the guys whinging at the price of ice-creams, though - that's hardly a trick, is it? Just an added cost of going to one of those places.
Lovefilm, however, is a whole different kettle of fish.
Now, that is downright naughty.
I personally wouldn't be caught out as I don't 'do business' in the street, be it with chuggers, AA/RAC membership, Sky or whoever.
But some of the things they were saying to customers was shocking.
I find it astonishing that anyone would sign a form and leave a complete stranger to fill the rest in because they were rushing for the bus!
And I only got a very brief look at the 'tick box' form last night, but even I could see that it said £4.99 would be taken from your account immediately.
But I guess if there weren't people like that around, this board would have to be re-named the 'Praise board'. :rotfl:
So what did you think of it, Azari?0 -

So what did you think of it, Azari?
I've not watched it yet (I always record things so that I can skip boring segments and ad's where present) but it doesn't sound as if it's going to be that interesting.
I particularly wanted to know what LoveFilm are up to as I use the service, but it sounds as if the problems there are to do with signing people up, and I signed up on a "Three months for the price of one and a £10 Amazon voucher" so I'm perfectly happy with that. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -
I would have liked to see them go into the cinema with a hidden camera with their own snacks.
Where they really going to say no when Nikky Campbell turned up with a camera crew and asked.
Apart from the lovefilm part nothing really shocked me and don't know whether I will bother next week0 -
Not seen the program.
I took a small group of people to the o2 for a concert. I went and watched a film while concert was on. I paid normal car park price + ciname fee and was still cheaper than just paying o2 parking price for concert.
I read the o2 website in advance of going so i knew this was the case for cheaper parking.0 -
How to make a 15 minute program last for ages.
I thought the Real Hustle spun things out a bit, but this programme puts them in the shade. If you are going to watch it, best to record it, then you can skip through the 'fluff'.0 -

Something which the BBC lagged behind ITV, Channels 4 and 5 in doing, but may soon be overtaking. If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0 -

Cineworld have actually changed their rules and let you in with your own cold food now, its in their terms and conditions.
They said on the programme that Vue and Odeon have changed too but my local Odeon still has a sign up saying only food purchased on the premises can be consumed.0 -
I watched a bit of it and spent almost the entire time thinking "this isn't new". The games are shows and theme parks are rigged? Really?! Who knew. The prices at theme parks are high? Never!
I will admit that the price of parking at the O2 shocked me, but then I probably wouldn't pay £28 for a ticket, never mind a parking space.0
