thanks to every-one who commented on my original query.
I have got my car back now and the garage gave me what amounts to a 20 % discount so I'm quite happy.
is that discount after they added 20% over the top on the bill

that does seem quick, what did they do & how much?0 -
maintenance is your responsibility, if it happened in mcdonalds drive thu would you hold maccy ds liable?silverbiker wrote: »I put my '57 mondeo in to regular garage for MOT & service. Subsequently informed that whilst putting car on ramp, timing belt snapped causing serious engine damage and now need new/recon engine.
Who is liable for costs , me or garage?
How long is belt supposed to last? It has done 50k.
Many thanks for any advice.
Now if the mechanic overshot the ramp and parked it in his tool box then the garage would be responsible0 -
No it was not quick !!! What with engine transport delays etc. it took 5 weeks in all!!!0
