Hmm, last year I made 76% on Supergroup shares in about 2 months.

I've got a share at the moment that Im expecting to go up 5 fold.

    Hi All,

What has done well for you in the past, how much did you make and what are you looking towards now?

    Choosing the right wife.

Some things a guy can do solo. Some things a guy needs a little help. Some things a guy needs a LOT of help, I don't want to be too specific for fear of seeming sexist, but this is where a good wife (*partner*) will make all the difference.

Bought £15.5K shares in Sports Direct International (SPD) which are currently worth ~£60k

But its not all one way though - I got cut trying to catch a falling knife, Northern Rock to the tune of £25K

I should have paid more attention to my sig before getting involved with NR :o

manipulating google, made me 500k in about 6 months with a travel site selling hotel bookings :) Obviously a lot of technical skill involved but I would have to say that was the best time win ratio I have ever had.

    fantastic:T

I've never had a lot of spare cash to make money from, but the best investment I made was going back to do a masters about 7 years ago. Not particularly for the actual content of the course, although some of that is still useful and it definitely changed the way my mind works and the way I think about things, but it meant I got on a graduate programme with an IT company and had a lot more opportunity to pick up more skills over the last 6 years.

So for £15k in costs/lost earnings for 6 months, I've earned about £40k more over 6 years than I probably would have if I'd kept on the same career path.

Yes I sold out of them when I thought they were fair value, didnt really want to hold a fashion retailer long term.
