Just wondered how old the kids are? Obviously, the ways of dealing with older kids would be different to those of dealing with younger ones..

My children are aged 4 and 6, sat them down and told them that he had told a lie and as we don't like liars so we wont be seeing him for a while-they seemed fine with it, DD (4) then said "he's selfish cos he lied" which sums him up really."Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away."
