This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

    Warm but over cast here,

I hope all of you are well, Iv not had the chance to read yesterday thread In full.

Dinner last night was chopped up brazing steak, With onion, In a Home made BBQ sauce, served with chips and mixed Veg.

Need to think about what to have for dinner tonight.

Today I'm off to the QE hospital, to find out about my new illness, I'm not sure if they can tell me much more than I now already know. They sent me a leaflet all about it and of course Iv been on the internet and had a read about it too. Still I may well have missed something and it can be better to be told things face to face as you can ask questions

Another good sleep for me, That's about two weeks now of good normal sleep for me.:T:T

Morning chums ,well the big day has arrived at last and DD and I will be t-shirted up with our special t-shirts and eldest DD got us some wristbands on Saturday.Hopefully the weather will be kind to us and we will have an exciting day and come home tired, hoarse from singing and with sore hands from clapping :):):)
We have to set off mid-morning as we have to drive to North Greenwich first to park and then tube it to Wembley from there, so a good couple of hours at least so I won't be getting home until the early hours.DDGS Mikey is off tomorrow on his schools trip for three days to Portsmouth and so I have three days off from the morning school run I shall miss him dreadfully as I have been looking after him for the past 4 years but I know he is so excited at the thought of being a 'big boy' and going away. His brothers and sister all did their first school trip and now its his turn.He said last night 'I shall miss you Granny but I am taking my teddy in the bottom of my bag and when I go to sleep I shall give it a cuddle and think of you'
Now I know I am a bit err...rounder than most but I have never thought of myself quite as a teddy bear, perhaps I should diet a bit :):):).I bought him his bear when he was small and its blue and rather bedraggled looking now from so much cuddling at bedtime .He whispered 'I won't let the other see him in case they think I'm a baby but I can't go away without him can I ?'So I said 'no I expect the other boys and girls have something similar, but if he's at the bottom of your bag you know where to find him at night'
Bless him he's at that halfway stage between wanting to be 'a grown up big boy' and still a little bit of a little boy as well.
Keith, my builder, should finish stripping the walls today and then he will be putting up some wood to box in some pipes as well so everyday its coming more together
Right now I'm off for a shower and a hearty breakfast before going to pick up DD and then we are off,so I'll probably be full of it tomorrow so Have a good day everyone
Judi those babies look adorable bless them
    Cheers chums

P.S. good luck at the hospital Halight

    Morning everyone!

Just packed hubby off to work, he feels 'old' this morning....maybe something to do with his martial arts training he went to straight after work last night lol. Gave him a kiss and shoved him out the door...what an evil woman am I she cackles.:D

Oldest DD arriving later to drag me and the collie out, not looking forward to going out but that's mainly because I'm so unfit lol.
I have just started Weight watchers but am doing it online because I don't like the meetings. I did well on it in the past so I am hoping I will lose a few pounds...well, stones!:o

Saying all that dinner tonight is sausage, egg and chips but I will have a low fat sausage and only a couple of chips. I like to cook and bake from scratch when I can and I'm currently teaching my younger DDs how to make some meals. DD13 did a very palatable bolognaise yesterday and there were clean plates all round.

Hope everyone on here has a good day and gets to enjoy the sun, cheers x

Edited to add, Well Jealous of JackieO, have an amazing time with the one and only Robbie. Hope the travelling goes smoothly and Good Luck Halight for the hospital x

    Morning everyone

Hugs to all those that are feeling sad/poorly x

Dull and very overcast but dry start to the day here this morning, air feels much cooler, think rain is on it's way. Plants watered.

DH up and off to work stupid early.

Hairdresser came last night and I'm now back to blond hi-lights so it covers my grey!! Menfolk all nice and tidy now too.

Dinner last night was f/bentos pies, HG new potatoes, marrowfat peas (menfolk love these, I hate them!) carrots, green beans and gravy. Desserts from the fridge. Tonight menfolk will be having fish, chips, and beans, I will be having fish, jacket potato and green beans/broccolli.

Work yesterday was a manic Monday as it was 1st of the month aswell - so a busy day - but it does make the day go quicker. Today will be nearly as busy I think as lots of people came in saw how busy we were and said they would come back today!!

Have calmed down a bit after my rant yesterday - I'm still not happy and not particularly looking forward to the weekend - but don't see why I should not go away and spend quality time with my close family and good friends - I'm hoping to amuse myself maybe go for a walk to the beach that's not too far away but essentially keep myself to myself. I'm hoping there's no social event on Sat evening so I don't have to sit with people I'd rather not - I know I can contain my disgust at a distance but not sure whether I could if I had to be in close contact with these people. I'm sure I'll find a way to cope. I think I may just leave them to get on with it and stay out of the way - I generally find that if you give these sort of people enough rope eventually they'll hang themselves with no assistance/interference from anyone else!

Have a good day - remember the suncream if you're out in the sun!

    Keep safe and well x

    Morning all,

Hubby has just left for work and taken the warmth out of the bed with him and i'm cold dare I say it! He's working 12 hours a day right now and the site foreman has enquired about employing 'Youngest'. Not sure how long for though but it will fit right into his break from college.

Youngest daughters car failed its MOT yesterday. Her boyfriend will be £400 poorer now as that's what it will cost to put a new petrol tank on it....Well, its his car now she drives the new one as she will need it to fit the pram in when Grandbaby comes.:D

'Youngest' will be home some time today. Not sure of the train times ive sent him a message so I can follow his trains back like I did on the way there. He's had a lovely time and his Girlfriends family adore him! With some money in his pocket he will be able to see her more often no doubt.

Usual jobs for me today plus a trip to the Post Office.

Sweet and sour chicken for tea and egg fried rice. We haven't had it for a while.

Halight I hope you get on well at the hospital.

JackieO its all go at your house isn't it? Have fun!

Dumpling I hope you get on well with WeightWatchers. I lost weight with the aid of a slimming club many years ago.... never again though. I hated it. I don't need a slimming club anyway I just need to start saying 'NO!' :D

    (((((Hugs)))) Nmlc.

    Have a good day all,

    Morning peeps :D

Looks set to rain but forecast is later on in week it's supposed to pick up again :T
Got some errands to run this morning, dog walking and the daily vac. I sorted out our paperwork mountain last night so I have some filing I need doing. Want to carry on cleaning out kitchen cupboards today too. Not much else going on, certainly in OS stakes :o

Tea will involve some sausages that a very kind neighbour gave us. I have to say aside from the old witch next door I shall miss this street. The neighbours are lovely :D suspect they won't miss us and my noisy kids though :rotfl:

Hugs and spoons all round x

JackieO confess I loathe Robbie Williams BUT I really hope you have a great time tonight :)
I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knife :D Louise Brooks

Morning all, running through before work.

I can not spend another day off work some I'm taking myself in (obviously taking my antibiotics with me so I don't forget them!)

Looks like it might decide to rain here, which is fine by me as long as I don't get wet!

Off to pick up my dresses today - very excited to get those back :-) also need to pick up some squash, rennies and hair gel for bf and pop in to the city centre branch of Halifax to see about opening an account with them (and get the £100 switching bonus!). It's going to be a busy lunch time!

Off to the cinema with bf tonight so I'm taking the 3D glasses to work to make sure they're not forgotten! We were going to go out for a meal too but bf has decided he can't be bothered so pizza at home it is :-)

Will pop by later to catch up with everyone properly - Halight, good luck with the hospital today!
