Tesco clothing - rant - no customer service

I'm not sure about that.
I bought 3 pairs of Mens swim-shorts in our local Tesco (luckily only a 15 minute walk away) and I checked the first pair for tags - none.
So I picked another 2 pairs of different designs and went through the self-service tills (I like this option). No alarms as I went through the exit.
When I got home, the other 2 pairs did have security tags on.
To make matters worse, OH didn't want the pair without the tag but wanted to keep the 2 pairs with tags (typical bloke) .
So I had to take all 3 back, 1 for a refund and the other 2 for tag removal.Ermutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.

The tags can be pretty unreliable. When i used to work at tescos, the worst was the HMV tags, they would always set of the tesco alarms if they wern't removed, but never seemed to set of the HMV alarmsOrkneyStar wrote: »Oh well, I have never managed to walk through security with a tag on anything (not that I have tried to of course, but there has been the odd one accidentally left on!). Perhaps some tags are not properly activated or something? I had a hire car key one time that set off alarms- now that WAS embarrassing!
I think it must have been something like that as I've bought clothes from Tesco before and the SA has left the tag on and I've set the alarm off at the exit doors.
I just posted my experience to show that it was possible that the OP didn't set the alarm off.0 -
yeah it happens.
i've seen multiple times where some tags simply wern't working. We ended up having to test all the tags to find out which were broken.
The ones used at tescos didn't have any kind of activation thou (at least the ones that were in use when i was there)
They had just broken over time, and until someone walks through the door with one, you will never know0
