Just wondered , we are moving in the next few weeks , i am despereate to have BT sport as the UFC is on it from August 1st , we currently have BT broadband and telephone , which we would like to keep , what we dont want to keep , is SKY

What do i need to do to access BT Sport and not sign a contract with SKY ?

Can i get it via freeview ? or do i have to subscribe to something ?

As long as you still have a working (and connected) Sky digibox then you'll be able to access BT Sport by that at your new home. You'll need a satellite dish, of course, but a cancelled viewing card from Sky will still allow you to receive free-to-air channels and also to subscribe to BT Sports.
BT Sport is not available on Freeview, but another alternative is to get a Youview box.

£12 a month for Standard Definition and £15 for High Definition. There is currently an offer on the High Definition which requires you to sign up before August to get it at the reduced rate of £12 a month for a year.

According to the BT adverts it is the Black Sky Box only that allows BT Sports

Yes, it has to be a recent model of Sky HD Digibox.-I made the assumption that the OP had one of those already based on him currently being a Sky customer. HD is definitely only available via an HD decoder.

If it was only installed last October you will still be under contract and will have to pay the remainder unless you bought the 2tb box out of contract.

Your Sky 2tb box will be more than capable of showing BT Sports in HD if you want. Do be aware that the recording functions of the box will cease to function when you cancel Sky.

For Youview you'll need to subscribe and be in a BT Infinity area to see BT Sports.

Good point, might be better to just use Sky to reinstall at the new property and wait out for the remainder of his minimum term.

I have taken down my package to the minimum in preparation to pay them 2 months payments as will cancel them as moving with them kicks off a new 12 month contract....

So you'll also have to pay for the installation of the box at the new property (assuming there isn't a satellite dish already there)
