Judi aren't they just so adorable?!
Well it turns out I have a raging throat infection - definitely shouldn't have put off going to the surgery! Antibiotics four times a day for seven days and I should then be OK :-) was informed that due to my temperature I should take today and tomorrow off then I'm fine at work as usual.
Horrible as bf had planned a little date to the cinema today and then out for a meal tomorrow night as he goes away again for three days on Wednesday and he says if I can't go to work I can't go out to 'play' so no dates for us :-( feel as if I've ruined his couple of days at home.
On the plus side it means all his kit will be washed, dried, ironed, mended etc in good time for him going Wednesday morning.
We've had our packed lunches as a little sofa picnic which was nice and everything is tidy at least. Bf is now napping as the warden woke him up At 8.45 when he was only back at 3am! I had set an alarm to let him in as a surprise but he got back ten minutes early so he snuck in and surprised me :-) he even got me a couple of little presents which was just so adorable!
I wonder if I should call quick stitch and let them know I will collect my dresses tomorrow or Wednesday rather than today? Not sure what we will do for tea - plans were kfc and bf does need diesel so that may still happen. That or I'll cook a pizza************************************

Welcome, Dumpling, love the name:D
Haha, I'm a Devonshire Dumpling (adopted though as brought up in Wales) and I'm also certainly as round as one too!:o
Having a disasterous time with the washing. The weather forecast said it was going to rain...not true... and I've just tumble dryed my hubbies favourite lambs wool jumper by accident. Suffice it to say, I think it might just fit my little 2yr old grandson now :rotfl::rotfl:.
Thank you for all the warm welcomes, it's lovely to be here.0 -
Welcome Dumpling, I'm sure you will fit right in with the rest of us!
Halight that is very good of you to tend the garden, I'm sure the couple will be very grateful.
Bit tired in work today. My own fault I watched the football final until 1am.
Hope Andy and Laura do well at Wimbledon today - nice to have someone British to support.
Have a nice day everyone.0 -
Oh dear. Booster vaccinations, two lots of 6 months worth of flea treatment and worm tablets for both. £180 :eek: they'd better make it up to me with lots of cuddles :rotfl:I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knife

But as my grandmother used to say "what can't be cured must be endured".:o
Ted will be going home tomorrow morning; so I shall write his "postcard" this afternoon, I think. It's the hardest part of the whole dog-sitting deal - I have a card to write, I have to do one half from us, and the other half is written from the dog's POV. It's quite fun in a way if there are two dogs, I use two different colour pens, and put it from them both - eg last time Bailey & Cassie stayed, part of it went something like:
I slept well, Aunty Wolfy put our beds in the kitchen, really comfy, but Bailey seemed to prefer sleeping on the front doormat. So?? I like the doormat! Anyway Cass, you snore!
Mr LW picked loads of strawberries at the PYO yesterday - some are in the cauldron to be jammed tonight (the recipe we use says to put them in the cauldron with the sugar and leave for 24 hours, so we did that), and I froze some for use in jellies or trifles or similar later, and of course I kept back some to have fresh.
I have a day dogless on Wednesday, then the aforementioned Hairy Hooligans, Bailey & Cassie will be coming back on Thursday.
(((HUGS))) sticks and spoons in a pile, help ourselves to what you'd like. :coffee: in the pot - again, help yourselves.:D
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

Afternoon all
Thanks for the offer of coffee Lamewolf-don't mind if I do. Any custard creams? Oh ta ever so.
Well washing has dried on the line and it's turned out nice now. Mixed bean chilli for tea and the last of the rhubarb crumble for pud.
Just saw on yah** that July is going to be hot and sunny into August. Oh goody just in time for OH's redundancy/retirement which officially starts tomorrow. Can it really be true? I'd love some real summer.
Anyway I am glad to be back and hearing all your news. So hugs to poorlies and all who want one and I'll see you tomorrow.

Well that's three loads of washing done and a final one in. I suppose being home ill has it's advantages seeing as that means all of bf's stuff is washed now in plenty of time for Wednesday! Just need to mend a couple of pairs of his gloves and iron his polo shirts.
I will sew his gloves later after doing a little more of my cross stitch, the ironing will wait until tomorrow.
I will definitely not be having tomorrow off as well, far too bored so I will take myself in to work. Plenty to do there and a few bits to do in town on my lunch break then too - pick up my dresses from the tailor, enquire with Halifax about opening an account and pick up some more squash for bf!************************************
