Morning All
Good to see you Islandmaid.
Welcome to dumpling.
Well, school's out for the summer and I had my DB and SIL here for the weekend, DS2 came over too for a couple of days so it was a lovely house. Unfortunately everyone has just left, DD has gone to work and I am all on my own! I have stripped the beds but the weather is a bit iffy so not sure where it is all going to dry, may have to keep some washing till I get the backlog cleared. We have gone through an alarming amount of towels, especially as we have been going swimming too.
Off for a swim myself this morning once the pensioners have left (they get in for nothing which is great but it is really busy while they are in first thing and they all want a chat!!). Will clean and tidy the house and then back to evening job at 7, I had this weekend off due to visitors.
Friends came over for dinner last night too so there were 8 of us. It was really good to get a proper Sunday dinner and a catch up.
Hugs to all those not feeling up to scratch, LW hope you're ok.
Take care. XX0 -
Morning everyone, long time lurker here.
I thought I would dip my toe in the friendly waters here on this thread.
A little bit about me, I am 44, i have 4 beautiful DD's, three of which still live at home with me and my lovely hubbie. I also have 1 old cat, 2 10 week old kittens and a lovely collie.
My husband has just got a job after being my carer for the past 14 years as I have schizo-affective disorder so it's all new here now. I think I'm channelling a 50's housewife lol as I get up with him to make his coffee and sandwiches and then plan a la Flylady what I am going to be doing each day. My oldest dd pops around each day to keep an eye on me lol bringing my grandkids.
I love the old style board and feel very much at home here. It's been very educational and helpful and I've learnt so much. I hope I am welcome here and I will try to post when I can.:)

Morning all,
Beautiful day here wm is just finishing so that will go on the line and another load to follow.
Yesterday OH and I managed to get a huge cupboard up the stairs and into the loft room which is off of our bedroom,it was really heavy and I struggled but we managed it, so I need to move some stuff into it today to free up some space in the bedroom, we also cleared out the shed of doom and took a load of stuff to the tip, you can actually get in the shed now :T, so a productive weekend.
Heard from dd very late last night think they had been clubbing , she said its so hot, but they appear to be having a great time :T
Need to have a tidy round this morning then go and see my dad, I have some paperwork which needs doing this afternoon.
Roast chicken for dinner with all the trimmings.
FS is that your dd in your photo ? what a beautiful girl xx

Good morning all,
Welcome, Dumpling, love the name:D
I am job searching mainly today. It's overcast so shall not bother with the washing, there is not much anyway.
Tea tonight will be lamb chops roast sweet potato and salad out of the garden.
Need to tidy round but nothing major. Dh has a meeting here later with the possibility of a new contract so fingers crossed.
Nothing much else to report, shall pop back later J xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Morning everyone
Got Vets today. For cat and dog. Ouch it's gonna be expensive!!!!!
DD has opticians this afternoon after school and I've got to head off some point and pay deposit for DD's party.
House is a tip and needs a good tidy. H decided late yesterday afternoon to get some stuff down from loft that needs to go. Consequently it's stashed in various bedrooms and need moving down to garage. Some if going via freegle which is nice, hate sending stuff to landfill although our tip is really good at sorting stuff for recycling.
Not sure about tea as I am attempting to fast today.
No other news, hugs and spoons all round x

Welcome Dumpling, LW, I hope your visitors chase the BD away, Molly I hope things are ok with you.
I haven't made it to work yet as I have an upset stomach, in fact I'm only out of bed because I had to shower!
I've managed to put a load of bedding on a boil wash, bleugh I feel like carp, I'm hoping to go in to work in an hour or so.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Morning everyone!
Busy weekend for me as I was back to work after 3 weeks off following my op. Was hoping to spend the time catching up with all my work but no, ended up with prisoners to deal with on Saturday which took all afternoon, then spent yesterday doing all the associated paperwork. So, the rest of my work didn't get touched.
Rest days today and tomorrow, and up at 6 as my DS15 is on work experience this week. He is at Pets at Home and starting at 7 these two days so he can experience animal handling, cleaning them out etc. The rest of the week he is starting at 8, as thats when I start and its not far from where I work so can drop him on the way.
After that had vets appointment for my foster cat - I foster for the RSPCA. He needed his second lot of jobs. He should be going soon as was reserved at a rehoming event last week.
This afternoon I have a hospital appointment for the follow up from my neck op. I'm really pleased with how its healing, so hopefully all will be ok. I might actually get the real story as to why the other procedure wasn't carried out at the same time (was supposed to be having wisdom tooth out too) but we'll see!
Before that I will get some housework/washing etc done, and might also change my bedsheets, which is long overdue!
Have a good day all.0 -
Hello all, its been a long time since I posted on here! I still read fairly regularly, but work has just been getting in the way of things lately!
Off work today because its my BF's birthday. Snuck out to Asda first thing this morning and got some helium balloons and a banner to decorate the living room. Just need him to wake up now!!
Got new neighbours who moved in over the weekend. They had our driveway blocked off most of the weekend with various vans and cars. They didnt even come to apologise in advance for it, so i was pretty cheesed off. Hope its not going to be a regular occurrence.
I've been trying to be OS as much as I can, but its hard. We joined Costco a few months ago, and we've found that we are saving quite a bit of money, especially when we look for the deals and we go halfers with either my mum or BF's mum on things. The meat is more expensive, but so much better quality, so I dont mind paying more for that!
Hope you are all well!the only debt left now is on credit cards! The evil loan has gone!! :j:j0 -
Morning all,
Welcome dumpling. Love your name. Reminds me of my Dad. He used to call me his little Dumpling.... I remember him saying to me on the day of my wedding. "well I might not call it you anymore but you will always be my little dumpling". Oh how I miss that man!
News fresh from the Baby House in SA the two eldest babies (12 and 16 months) start school. Apparently in SA their schooling is very much different to ours. They actually start school at the age of 3 and finish their education at 18. Soldier and Sammi are at preschool Monday - Friday 7.30 till 12. Education out there costs an enormous amount of money but the the kids in the Baby House are getting private education for free as they are being sponsored. I have been promised some pictures. I'll post one or two when I can.
Hubby is a miserable g!t today. I do wish he wouldn't phone me just to moan! He's been ok all weekend but he had a late night last night and he's tired. His own fault really. He should have gone to bed earlier. His constant nit picking and moaning drags me down.
Havent heard from 'Youngest'. I trust he's well. He'll be back tomorrow.
Household duties are top of the agenda today. Ive started already but not into 'working mode' yet, i'm still half asleep.
Good to see we have returners, popping in to say hello and long time lurkers. Lovely to hear from you.
