This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

Her husband has lung cancer and is quite ill at the moment. He dose not have long to live. Only a few months by the sound of it.

Good morning everyone
Halight that is so kind of you to help:)
Well the sky is a beautiful shade of blue here today and have just managed to put the first load of washing on the line. I have 3 loads to do and then I have emptied the basket:T until bedtime that is:rotfl: I got quite behind last week with the poor weather. Yesterday I managed all of the bedding and towels.
The children are off today for a teacher training day and so is hubby. We don't have anything planned as I am waiting for a parcel to be delivered. I think it might just be a case of the children riding their bikes whilst I walk the dog.
I have some weeding in the garden to do today and the lawn needs mowing. Along with scones and flapjacks to make.
It's going to be a 'pottering' type of day today - my favourite kind :T oh and it should be a NSD too:money:
Enjoy your day everyone x£370/£300 April challenge :T:T0 -
Morning everyone, long time lurker here.
I thought I would dip my toe in the friendly waters here on this thread.
A little bit about me, I am 44, i have 4 beautiful DD's, three of which still live at home with me and my lovely hubbie. I also have 1 old cat, 2 10 week old kittens and a lovely collie.
My husband has just got a job after being my carer for the past 14 years as I have schizo-affective disorder so it's all new here now. I think I'm channelling a 50's housewife lol as I get up with him to make his coffee and sandwiches and then plan a la Flylady what I am going to be doing each day. My oldest dd pops around each day to keep an eye on me lol bringing my grandkids.
I love the old style board and feel very much at home here. It's been very educational and helpful and I've learnt so much. I hope I am welcome here and I will try to post when I can.:)0 -
Morning everyone
Hugs to all those that are feeling sad/poorly x
Bright, sunny and dry start to the day here this morning. Washing on the line. Plants watered.
DH up and off to work stupid early.
Had a lovely weekend away, really peaceful and relaxing - just what we needed after the last week or so - we're away again this weekend and had cancelled due to c**p going on with others but felt it was unfair for those that had put a lot of time and effort in organising the event - so are still going but to be honest not looking forward to it. Will be polite and distant - am pretty well disgusted with all that's going on to the point where I don't want to be associated with it - think that those involved are trying to create a diversion because they are (and they now know) are in far deeper s**t than they ever thought imaginable - and all created by themselves - there's no-one else to blame but them. Sorry that turned into a bit of a rant - but as you can probably tell - I'm not happy!! Just waiting to see what load of bulls**t falls out of someone's mouth!
Dinner yesterday was all a bit out of sync - we had bacon rolls at the caravan, then once we got back I cooked burgers, sausages, and chips, menfolk had cheeseburgers in baps, sausages, chips and salad etc, I had a cheeseburger, sausages, potatoes and salad. Dinner tonight will be fray b pies, HG new potatoes, peas and gravy - had a clear out of my food store at the caravan as lost track of what I had in there - and have bought some of the near date stuff home as we're only away this next weekend - then nothing more until we come back off our first part of our holiday - so this week's meals will feature lots of odd combos I think! Hairdresser coming tonight to cut menfolks hair and re-blond me - can't wait it's really dark and needs doing badly, at least I'll be sorted for mum and dads do and our hols then.
Have a good day - remember the suncream if you're out in the sun!
Keep safe and well x

Welcome dumpling.:)
I've had a busy weekend. My brother's wedding was lovely, his bride looked stunning and they both looked really happy. That was on Friday.
Saturday, my mum had a get together at her house to watch the rugby, so everyone from the wedding was there too.
Yesterday was back to normal and a big trip to Costco  £200  but my weekly shop at tesco was only £14. I did some gardening and caught up with the housework.
Today I'll be running around again. My brother and his wife are moving house today so I'm giving them a hand. I'm going to rest on Wednesday I think!
I hope everyone is ok, I need to catch up with you all.0 -
Hello and welcome dumpling
Can't believe it's Monday again.
Just my normal Monday activities today, an eBay parcel run and lots of housework.
Not sure what's for dinner tonight, but something involving chicken!
