Hi ladies,
I've been completely off the radar the last couple of weeks as had a fire which started in the electrical fuse box in the kitchen and was very scary :eek::eek: Was very lucky however that it happened while we were in and managed to catch it fairly quickly with fairly minimal damage. Doesn't bear thinking about if we'd have been out or, worse, in bed. The smell of burning plastic is almost gone and I once more have power, bar the cooker at the moment, engineer back out on Monday as that keeps tripping the new board as soon as switched on. I can live without it for a couple of days as only me about while OH is at work.
We have now had a fire, leak and the central heating boiler pack up this year so hopefully that's the three and at least its the main components replaced and brand new! I'm starting to hate the place but can't afford to move so will have to make the best of it, some decorating may help I think - I'm aiming for positive action!
Back OT, suffice to say I'm totally behind with the thread, I'll call it quits with June wherever I got up to and catch up with this month's thread so far. I did glimpse on the last page of June while I was looking for the link to the new thread that someone had mentioned balance me freebies with next issue of Glamour - many thanks for the tip as I sometimes end up missing out, didn't get the Elemis on Red last month and ended up buying off ebay
Last items to declare from June were a further 4 x Elemis Pro-Radiance Flash Balm off ebay, paid £18 for these plus £1 postage so not at all bad but obviously not £2 each either which they'll have been picked up for. Oh well, I really like this so thought I'd stock up. A tube seems to be lasting me around 2/3 weeks. Also IN a Nivea In Shower Body Moisturiser for dry skin - second tube I've had, got it on offer in Boots - not a true replacement for proper moisturising but as good as I'm ever going to manage on a weekday morning! And finally, also from ebay, S & G Hocus Pocus and Fab Pore hot cloth cleanser, paid £5 for the two, can't resist a bargain!
Final outs for June were one of the above moisturisers - WBA and have done, a Bomb Cosmetics Blackberry Lotion Soap which was lovely and moisturising but didn't last very long - WBA, Sure Nutritive deo - my go-to deo, WBA and finally Syncrorose Cleansing Milk - nice and non-irratating but I think its fairly pricey and not that readily available - WMBA.
Totals for June were 36 IN, 17 UU - I've not reduced the stash numbers since March now, must do better!! :rotfl: In my defence there's not been much time for pampering but I'm going to make time going forward. Apologies for any happy birthdays, congrats, commiserations and hugs I've missed out on giving x0 -
Ebay always finds in favour of the customer, sellers can't even leave neutral or negative feedback. I have complained about this directly to them before.
This is soo annoying! I recently sold about ten items on there, mostly clothes and a few items of makeup, most people paid up immediately, didn't hear from two so after a couple of days I emailed them both, one replied back and said they were going to pay on the Fri, the auction having ended on Sunday night, I thought this was a bit naughty as should have ok'd this with me upfront as I don't think most people would think that was a reasonable timeframe, but still they eventually paid. The other I heard nothing and still no reply after a second email - they had something like 500 feedback on 98%, when I read into their specific feedback a lot of sellers had been forced to write what on face value looked like positive feedback and would have added to their score but the contents was actually that they didn't respond to any correspondence and just failed to pay, very annoying in my opinion and if you were able to leave proper negative feedback which would effect their percentage I doubt they'd do it so lightly. Ebay makes money from sellers fees so I don't understand why everything is tipped in the favour of the buyer, should be a more even balance and the bad eggs rooted out! Rant over!0 -
Couple of Uu to report
Ted baker perfume WBA smells quite nice
Far away fantasy bought last year and went to use and found that the nozzle doesn't work . Serves me right for not checking when I boughtdunno if Avon would do anything for me as I could send a photo of bottle unused and they have the bought date on my account. They can also see I tend to bulk purchase these every few months( for my mum)
£365 a year spend challenge - this has included food/clothes/beauty?? who knows where I am

Hopefully you have had your back luck for the year emsjune78!
A couple of UU to declare:
Razors - WBA but have already restocked
L'Oreal everriche shampoo - WMBA I like this sulphate free brand but I cant really tell any difference between the 'ever' range so will happily pick up any of the products thats available.
Macadamia hair masque - WBA but have already restocked. This helps to tame by frizz and lasts for ages.No more buying toiletries0 -
I agree with you emsjune I really wish it was possible to leave neutral feedback sometimes. They kind of force you into leaving feedback for an item, but they force you to make sure it's positive. I've had 3 people win items and not bother to pay for them, and it's really frustrating. And I agree with you how frustrating it is to have some people wait several days to pay - I'll time items so I can post them on a weekend, but when they pay late, it means I have to leave work early to post it during the week. However, I've bought something on eB@y once that was described 'as new' but arrived with scratches and in need of a small amount of glue to fix it, and I did appreciate the buyer protection to get a partial refund for the cost of glue.0

Well, ladies, I have quite a few INs, but none of them were bought!
My best friend works in Lush, and I've become really good friends with the other staff (oh so dangerous!), so when they asked if I could help out with the kissing event that was on today (trying to break the world record for number of kiss-prints collected in a day) I said definitely, thinking it'd be fun to hang out... Had a lovely time accosting people in the street, and went to let the manager know I was off - only to be stunned when he handed me one of the massive giftboxes as a thank you!So, INs as follows (the You're a Star box):
Blackberry bath bomb
Dream Cream 100g
Aqua Mirabilis Body Butter
Ceridwen's Cauldron Bath Melt
Therapy massage bar
Dreamtime Bath Melt
French Kiss Bubble Bar
Silky Underwear Dusting Powder
Skin Shangri Cream 10g
Which makes for one very happy Owl! :j All to go into the stash except the Dream Cream, which I've opened up to try and tackle the sunburn I got earning it!No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries in January!UU: 5, IN: 2Total Stash: 99 - ultimate target 33 (year start 99)0 -
Won a bottle of Avon cherry and cinnamon room and linen spray on a tombola back in December. Put it in the communal bathroom so my housemates would help use it up, and it's has finally gone! WNBA it's a really synthetic smell, and I don't really need such a thing!0
