Chocomonsta you made me laugh to.
When I had the 'light sabre' I walked in and the ultrasonograher said, ' oh yes, let's get you undressed and have a look inside but I can tell from just looking at you you have them', its written all over your face (mine are cystic ovaries)
The idea of cysts so huge they can be seen in my face was somewhat alarming!0 -
You poor thing
I hope everything goes ok for you today and they get to the bottom of it asap xx 0 -
Chocomonsta, luckily (for me) nothing quite that dramatic/traumatic has happened to me yet lol!
Back from the scan and there is nothing obvious to indicate why i'm bleeding so much. Which is good news in that it rules out some cancers but feeling pretty bummed out I still have no idea what is wrong with me. I was hoping in a weird way it was fibriods or polyps so it was something easily treatable IYSWIM?
They only did a abdominal scan, I thought I would need a light saber to, especially being on the scales read "Heffa" side haha.
Will have to see what the doctor says in a weeks time! I hope they aren't just going to write me off now! :eek:0 -
They will not write you off, and it still Might well be easily treatable.

You're being very stoic, the waits between scans and appointments are just horrid. I think they are particularly gruesome.0 -
I had this when i came off the pill. I didnt have a period while on the pill and it seemed like my body has stored them up for the 2 years and was letting it all out.
I went to the docs and got prescribed tranexamic acid. It is a pills you take three times a day when your period starts and they lighten the load considerably. I know we cant give medical advice but its worth asking your doctor about.0 -
You poor thing! Have you been literally bleeding everyday for 6 months?
I bled for 6 weeks a few years ago when I started the pill and a course of antibiotics on the same day....
I bled for 2 months last year because of a miscarriage then infection.
I've got a large fibroid and low platelets and anaemia. I take iron every day (I statred with floradix a month ago, then 2 sachets of spatone a day and now just an iron tablet from Tesco, i'm not feeling so tired and dizzy now).
I'm a bleeder so if I cut myself I bleed for hours.
I've had 3 nosebleeds over the past few years and been hospitalised and have blood transfusions, seeing so much blood is scary!
I hope the doctors can help you and find a solution.
Look after yourself xx0 -
Thanks,
I was prescribed northisterone (spelling) and after two weeks that hadn't made the slightest difference, So they put me on the pill and Tranexamic Acid for 4 days which did help but didn't stop the bleeding I've been off it for a few days and the bleeding is getting worse again now
Waiting to hear from the Doc as to when I can start taking it again.
But it has made a massive difference so I've been able to use smaller tampons and pads for a few days. Hoping that the pill will take over over the weekend and keep it at bay until we figure out what is going on.
The doc said she was going to do me a continuous run on them for a few months so no breaks for me on that.
I'm hoping its under control properly before I take the kids down to my parents in a few weeks. It's a PITA ruining your own sheets but the shame of ruining someone else's :rotfl: I might just have to get myself some proper Tena ladies!0 -
In some ways its good they didn't find anything obvious. Hopefully it'll all just stop one day for you. Have you thought of home made pads made from cloth? It would save you a small fortune. I know I spent a forune just buying them for 6 weeks solid plus I was sore.
Eeee what's it like being a woman sometimes!

I think you need to TALK to your consultant. what diagnosis are they thinking of? Endometriosis? Early Menopause? WHAT? there is a lack of communication if you are posting on here with no clue what your symptoms mean and no-one is telling you anything then YOU need to take charge - its YOUR body and your life - ask them what they are looking for! what have they found or haven't found!0

Hi
Just another possibility my friend had heavy bleeding for months scans picked up nothing she was worried sick turned out to be a hormone imbalance basically the hormones that control the whole menstrul cycle were turned on all the time shes been on her meds 6 months now and ia back to normal. I know we all automatically fear the worse but there are lots of non obvious things it could be and you will get sorted unfortunately as usual it involves alot of waiting
Hope you get sorted soon
