Maybe "mature" would be a better word?
My uncle loves Gameboys and he's in his 50s. My granddad had a Master System when it first came out and got really far in a tonne of games!Hi. Too many of you seem to worry about the age thing, I have been playing games both on dedicated machines and now on both the machines and through my PC,I love playing the fantasy games and although I play solo most of the time if people ask just how old I am I am always straight with them {I am nearly 70}.
I think it is fair that people call me a senior or a silver surfer {or maybe just crazy} but it is a thing that I enjoy doing and on those long cold winter night given the choice between the rubbish that seems to be on TV these days or a few hours leveling up on games like Rift, LOTR or even {if I am really board} WOW.
Just enjoy the games you play, age or gender is not important, if games are your thing carry on for as long as it suits you ;0)

I'm in my 30's and enjoy showing up some of the younger gamers on games like Battlefield 3.
Gaming and getting older seems a good way to keep your mind and reactions sharp imo.All your base are belong to us.0 -

On the PC? I thinks we need a MSE Clan for BF3!
Picked up a Dreamcast earlier on in the year just to re-play Shen Mue, awesome game!0 -

I'm female and in my 60's and play games regularly.
I started out with the basic PC games which myself and daughters enjoyed. Hubby doesn't 'get' them! Then I bought PS1's for both my daughters.
My daughters bought me a PS1 for my 50th birthday as they had taken theirs with them when they went to Uni and I was bereft without it, then I moved up to PS2, have a DS and updated it to 3DS, have Xbox and Xbox Kinect and Wii, and I love them all!
At the moment I'm into Zelda Ocarina of Time on 3DS and Zelda Twilight Princess on the Wii. Professor Layton is a favourite and I get the new ones (when they come out) for Christmas or Birthdays from my hubby (which is why I had to update to 3DS!).
I don't play online though - just for myself. So I think I would classify myself as a 'Mature' - rather than 'senior' - gamer'! You are only as young as you feel - and the only thing I don't really do are the battle-gory/football games.0 -
I'm really senior, also, female. You lot are "not-teenagers"
-- probably more or less the same generation as my nephew, who began on a BBC-B, ISTR. (I began later, on a PCW.)
Me too,
I've been gaming for about 30 years and am also female.
I do struggle to find people that play as bad as me and view it as fun rather than life or death.
I'm in the process of moving over from XBOX360 to PS4, but my user name is the same, if anyone fancies adding me as a friend just PM me.
I like Fifa, GTA5 COD, and PSN network free games. Was a 40 a day smoker for 20 years.
Decided to give up, and haven't had a fag for 12 years.
Halfway through losing six stone.
Looking forward to early retirement.0 -
I wouldn't class myself as 'senior' (being 42) but I'm still into gaming.
Started off on a Philips G7000 VideoPac, then Atari VCS, C64, C128, Amiga, PC, PS1-4 (4 on order).
I've also been programming games professionally for 16years. First job was at Psygnosis (remember them?!)0 -
eeee, when I was a lad and working in t'mill as a cotton tenter we used top lay skittle with the bobbins.
How things have changed - now those bobbins are worth more than my Xbox and folks are reviving the games.0 -
This thread gives me hope. I'm currently having a mini early life crisis at the grand old age of 27!0
