Ah right, thanks for putting me right, sorry for misunderstanding. If they do indeed accept downloaded PDFs as proof of ID/address/income, I would seriously question their competence, yes.

Ha ha, fair enough. Don't other banks? (for income proof)

Some do, some don't. Personally, I wouldn't chance it.

I don't think for a minute they've been misleading but if you wish to Tweet them 'they' are usually listening out for mentions.

I think it's very misleading. And really, it isn't my job to tweet at them to tell them so, it was something that should have been picked up quicksharp by NatWest's compliance team, who I would hope vet any public communications...

Doesn't do much to enhance my opinion of RBS Group, really.

As ever people you are missing the point .

    http://www.natwest.com/personal/online-banking/g1/paperless.ashx#tab-section1

Quite clearly says could be used and if the institution you ask to accept them declines ( any examples ??) you can as shown ask for a free paper copy .!!!!!!

Sometimes, you need a paper statement – perhaps to prove your identity or your income.

Good news – with our new PDF statements, you can download, save and print up to seven years of statements in an easy to use PDF format and the new design means it could be used as proof of your identity, address or income. Just log into Online Banking and see for yourself.

If you’d prefer us to send you a paper statement, you can order up to three months of duplicate paper statements. And you can do this twice in any 12 month period for free.

The old design "could" also be used as proof of ID etc., as "could" your name and address hand-written on toilet paper if you managed to find any organisation foolish enough to accept it.
