They also say you can use these as proof of identity etc.. Will this actually be the case, or will some companies be fussy?Save in 2013: #166: 9,122.51/[STRIKE]5,000[/STRIKE] 10,000Interest earned in 2014: £257.61 20/04/140

It's not up to RBS or NatWest to say whether the statements can be used as proof of ID or not; it's up to the other companies asking for the ID whether they are prepared to accept them.
They can or may be refused, regardless of what RBS/NatWest say on their website.0 -

It's a stupid statement. It'll just lead to more complaints for them ("I went to apply for a mortgage with these documents you said would be fine and they said they weren't acceptable!!!!1") and more complaints for other financial institutions ("NatWest said these would be fine to prove my address, but you won't accept them!!!!1").
Well done, RBS/NatWest. Have a nice feature but advertise it totally wrongly. No bank worth their salt will accept documents printed from the Internet as proof of address. Especially not given that PDFs can be modified and that discrepancies from proper, official statements on the PDFs will also look like the discrepancies from proper, official statements on one of the many "print your own XYZ Bank statement" kits fraudsters love to use.RoxRoxBling wrote: »They also say you can use these as proof of identity etc.. That's not fussiness. Given what I say above, it's good common sense.urs sinserly,

According to NatWest's Twitter account, they're also implementing a new feature of allowing you to update when you're traveling abroad via Internet Banking.
In my opinion, NatWest's Internet Banking is quite old and outdated and lacks small features like being able to order a replacement card, update your address etc. They can also be slow as well, for example, if you apply for an overdraft and it is agreed, it is not added to your account until the next working day.
Most banks add overdrafts instantly these days.0 -
Huh? Statements? How do you update a bank statement?
Maybe I didn't word it correctly.
As this thread mentioned a new feature NatWest have implemented i.e. allowing people to download PDF statements, I added that they're also implementing another new feature, which is to allow customers to tell NatWest when they will be abroad via Internet Banking, so that their cards do not get blocked.0 -
ah right. Thanks for clarifying.0

To be fair it does say could be.0
