Virgin - Give me my money back

Options
I changed ISP from Virgin in January and they have continued taking payments - I didn't notice until the 3rd month (I know, I should check statements closer ).

Their email customer services said they can't deal with it and gave me 2 phone no.'s - neither of which work!!! They haven't replied to my email now. So how do you get hold of Virgin exactly? I want my money back.

You'll be lucky! I had the same problem with them before Christmas and eventually I gave up as it was costing me in phone calls and frustration!!!! :(

This is very common with virgin.net
The best advice I can give is to read the posts here http://bbs.adslguide.org.uk/postlist.php?Cat=&Board=virginnet
and possibly ask for help there. Lots of disgruntled customers who can give you the best chance of getting your money back.
    Regards,
    wally.
  • They continued charging me for a dial up that i did not have. After many phone calls by me, and many broken promises from them, they have agreed to pay back over £60 they owe me. B ut supprise they said it would take 6 weeks so i think the battle is not yet won. May i suggest if you are having similar problems, dont talk to the person who answers, ask them nicely to be put through to a supervisor, get his name and direct contact or reference number and keep phoning.
    Best of luck

That's shocking Margaret! They shouldn't get money off us like this.

Not very good reading for Virgin (or me as they've got my money!).

Funny how it can take them 6 weeks to pay you what they owe..... I bet they took your payments on the dot?

Hmm.... looks like I'll be a while getting this back then.

I had virgin broadband it was cancelled in 1 April, they own me money, I phoned them and was told the money will be paid I said when they told me that it will be paid in about 8 weeks, I told them that my card will expire by then, they told me to phone back when I get a new card, I told them no way, can you pay money to my bank account and they said no but can pay my cheque. I said I send me the cheque then. That was about 19 days ago still nothing.

I hope they don't take any money out for this months, today is the day when they take money out. For next month my card changes. So if they do take any money from my card this month, hopefully they will not be able to do it next month.

If you contact the bank they will stop the money being taken - I've just done this once I realised what was happening.

Fran, I thought you can only cancel Direct Debit not card payments.

I would re-check this Fran. I would also get it in writing! My bank said that they couldn't stop a card once I authorised payment. I had to threaten both Virgin and the bank[with the ombudsman] before the payments were stopped.
