If I was in an infinty area I would be tempted by Youview as I could then watch BT sport.

Youview doesn't seem to offer the media player ability of the freeview/freesat machines which is something I would use to play movies etc.

Gambler - OK. I prefer FreeSat - there's more bandwidth for channels and interactive stuff (remember the Olympics for example when far more stuff was available thru satellite). You can go for a standard Humax Foxsat HDR box (there are different drive sizes available) if you're not planning to use catch up stuff so much (it IS there but not as well integrated) or the better option these days would be the freetime box which is more modern and integrates the catch up stuff much better, in the same way as YouView does.

I'm trying to find out if btsport will be available on freesat but it doesn't look promising.

No, Gambler. No Freesat. It will be available via IP, the Sky platform (directly from BT) and Freeview (on BT Vision boxes).

Can I get BT Sport with Freesat?

You need to have Freesat from Sky to order BT Sport on Freesat. This means you’ll need a Sky box and Sky dish if you want to watch BT Sport on the Sky Digital Satellite Platform.


I have a sky dish. What if I purchased the Humax freesat and paid £25 for the freesat card from sky?

Unfortunately Gambler that would just be a waste of £25. Sky cards only work in Sky boxes.
