TalkTalk router upgrade

There is no "catch" in the new router offer - I went through it a few weeks ago.
I had previously replaced my TT router with a Netgear DG2000 but accepted the TT new one anyway.
It's speed etc., seems at least as good as the Netgear but the range is far better - can get WiFi at the bottom of the garden now, never managed that before.
What's in it for them?
Simple. They upgrade your router so that they are sure you can live-stream video from the internet, and then after you are all set up with it they will call you and try to get you to take their YouView TV box.
You get that free as well with no increase in your costs (other than the recently announced ones for everyone) but you have to agree to a 24 month contract renewal. This was later confirmed by snail-post.
If you have no problems with TT then it's not a bad deal, as they also offer a £6 per month discount for 6 months but I made sure that they confirmed what I would be paying after the promo period.
What's in it for them - a two year secure contract so you won't be tempted to BT or Sky and the possibility of you opting into some of the extras on TT like Sky Sport or Movie channels or Love film for which you do pay a subscription.0
