Parking Eye - Advice please?

A customer is a customer regardless of how much they spend and how long they spend in the store, surely?
Not really. Looked at from the point of view of simple fairness, why should The Range provide you with an hour-and-a-half free parking whilst you go off somewhere else? FWIW, if you look at the signage at the car park you'll probably find that "leaving the site" is one of the heinous "crimes" for which they expect you to cough up £100.
Don't worry about it though, just don't tell The Range, Parking Eye or POPLA that you left the site. You didn't already tell them did you?Je suis Charlie.0 -

No I didn't, I just sent the letter as above which doesn't say I left. But, the letter contained a picture of me entering and leaving the car park so they could have further CCTV of me leaving my car there...0 -

They won't have CCTV watching you. And even if they did they would have had the live footage and, you could argue that they had an opportunity of mitigating their losses by having someone warn you that you risked a charge - the fact they had no one there to do that is not your problem.

NO NO NO NO! Remove that letter NOW! They read this forum, and if they see your letter here they will immediately know who you are! And then they will do everything they can to get you into a court, because they would just love to be able to brag about it on their website!
Don't delay, edit NOW!Je suis Charlie.0 -
Have we established on what basis they have decided that you were not a customer? or that your time limit was 0hr 0min? For all we know is some automated screw-up. You still haven't answered my question as to whether there was a terminal where you enter your registration details because if there wasn't I don't see how they can justify ticketing you unless some goon is sat there watching the CCTV. Even then they would have to be very sharp eyed as by your account you went into the store to buy water & then left the car park & not just parked up & left.0
