Parking Eye - Advice please?

Hi everyone!
I'm new to MSE forums but I received a ParkingEye fine yesterday and wanted to find out what everybody else's experiences with them had been like.
The letter I received was in regards to an occasion I had parked at The Range where I live - which is a ParkingEye run car park I now understand.
The parking signs stated it is a two hour maximum stay for customers. I purchased a bottle of water from the establishment before leaving my car for roughly and hour and 45 minutes to go to my Zumba class.
The company have stated in the letter that the maximum stay for the public is 0 hours and 0 minutes... but I assume this is for non customers.
So I have responded with a letter contesting the fine with a scanned picture of my purchase receipt to prove I was in fact a customer (doesn't matter how much I spend, right?)
Will this be enough or are they now going to keep hassling me???
Thanks guys!
Kayleigh

Was this ALDI? I suspect that you were meant to key in your registration number somewhere.0

1. It's not a fine, it's a speculative invoice which you need not pay.
2. They will probably keep hassling you, because they are the scum of the earth and they want your money.
3. If (as is almost certain) they reply rejecting your appeal, they should provide a POPLA code. If you look around here you will find LOADS of examples of what to put in a successful appeal to POPLA, but someone here will help with yours, or check it over before you send it in.
4. The one thing NOT to do is to ignore them, because they are nasty people and you need to nail this to get them out of your hair.Je suis Charlie.0 -
Thank you Baz,
I suspected it wouldn't be a simple process to appeal but I really don't see how they can reject it now that I've posted them solid proof that I was a customer and they've already acknowledged that I stayed less than 2 hours.
It all seems a bit dodgy. It's almost as if they've sent everybody a letter who stayed longer than an hour, assuming they weren't a customer - or even if they were - wouldn't have thought to keep their receipt so they can get money out of people.0 -

Reason, logic and justice don't enter into it. They simply want your money, and they don't care what justification you have for parking where you did. Plenty of people are intimidated into paying up, they are hoping you are one of those. But you and I know you are not, right?
The only reason they might allow your appeal is if they think you have a good chance of success at POPLA (because they have to pay POPLA £27 to hear your appeal) - but don't bank on it! Because you have already appealed to them without help, they think you are a patsy who will not put together an effective POPLA appeal - but don't sweat it, if you ask for help once you get the POPLA code then they will not know what's hit them (or rather they will, because they've been hit with it before!)Je suis Charlie.0 -
It's The Range, she already said.
If the letter said that the parking time limit was 0min 0sec I suspect that was because there is a terminal inside The Range where you are supposed to enter you vehicle registration number. When they reconcile that with the vehicle registration numbers captured on CCTV the time limit would be 2hr 0min. It's a system that they have in some ALDI stores.
Which town is this & was the car park just for The Range?0 -
The Range have a habbit of just brushing people off., they dont seem to careProud to be a member of the Anti Enforcement Hobbyist Gang.:D:T0

OK, then she needs to go back to the retailer & complain like hell that a genuine customer is being harassed by their agents.
I think she might be on thin ice there because she bought a bottle of water in The Range and then went off somewhere else for an hour-and-a-half. Although, of course, she doesn't need to tell them that: it's the kind of shop where you could easily spend a couple of hours just browsing (at least, women can if my missus is anything to go by - sorry Kayleigh)

Another thing is... the letter was for a time two weeks ago and I've since used the car park for the same amount of time since then. So I actually sent them receipts for both days hoping that if they are going to 'fine' be for latest trip - they can just cancel that from going through.
I'll post the letter I sent them.0 -

A customer is a customer regardless of how much they spend and how long they spend in the store, surely?0
