Ok, the above was meant about your response to reading the articles in your signature...

I was responding to your post #10 - we cross-posted.

Basically - sit tight and continue to ignore, until and unless you get actual court papers (from Northampton County Court - the clearing house for all small claims) OR one of the letter types I mentioned in post #5.

Ok, thank you I really do appreciate it

If I do get one of the above will you continue to shout at me if I ask for your help? Also, is one of the above likely? And what will then happen...?0 -
Dont worry about the phone calls they may annoy you but they cant do anything and you are within your rights to tell them to go away, or words to that effect.
Your number is in a computer the computer rings it, if you answer your details come up on some call centre jockeys screen, thats why sometimes there is a gap before they speak. They then read from a script on the screen.
These scripts don't make allowances for different types of debts. If they owned the debt and they had a credit agreement or contract then they do have a bit of clout and could actually do something if they wished.
This type of alleged debt is not backed up by anything no agreement no contract, in this case all Newlyn can do is ask you to pay them, they take their bit and send the rest to Excel.
If you don't pay they will send it back to Excel who may or may not take it further.
You have no need to be worried about Newlyn.0 -
So as said previous, sit tight and carry on ignoring unless I get one of the above? Thank you0

Of course I will ... but in a nice way.

But as said above, the chances of you actually receiving any such letter/paper is miniscule.
The link posted in post #5 shows the types of letters you may receive. NONE of these are of the type I mentioned ... they are all just threatograms that you can continue to ignore.

Ok thank you, then I shall sit tight and hope I never have to be shouted at by you again :-D0

Ok sooo.... today I received a letter from Newlyn, saying court action pending and about a CCJ if I do not pay within 14 days?
Help, no shouting please.... :-/0 -

Whisper, whisper....... still ignore, there's nothing to do that will change anything at the moment (other than to pay, which there is no need to do).
Only if Court papers or Letter Before County Court Claim is received do you need to take action.
Newlyn can't take you to court, only the PPC, the landowner or a solicitor representing either of the latter two.
This is nothing more than a (well known) threatogram. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
