Rechargeable AA battery help

Am after 4 x AA batteries for use in my digital camera (also to use on HD video mode), what should I be looking for when buying rechargeable AA's? Want the highest power/longest life as pssible, and can anyone recommend what ones, and what charger to get?

Thanks in advance

I can recommend this battery charger

I have one and it works well with all my AA batteries.

The reason people recommend eneloop batteries are because what a lot of people don't realise is that standard rechargeable batteries will lose their charge pretty quickly after being charged, even if not in use (something like 50% loss of charge in a week for instance).

The eneloop batteries will not lose their charge for months (years if you believe their marketing) and therefore are much more useful if you are leaving them in something (such as a digital camera) that you don't use very often.

Amazon do their own range of low discharge batteries now, similar to eneloop, but cheaper of course.

Yes, many manufacturers market their own, but not all are born equal.

My preference and recommendation would be Enelope or GP ReCyKo, purely from personal experience.

I gave up on rechargeables. I spend a little more on Lithium batteries (I shop around on eBay for the best deal) and they are amazing. 2xAA literally will work after a year in my camera.

Same here, I was using the best recharchables that I could get and they still would not last more than 20 clicks of my digital camera.
I too use Lithium and get well over 1000 clicks for each pair of AA's and as I use the vouchers that I get from doing online surveys, I effectively get them free :)

Would have to agree with the last 2 posters, lithium are the best way for camera.

Whilst LSD batteries are good, not very good high drain devices, typical AA battery is about 2000 mah. So if using lost of burst mode or flash then they won't last long. So if doing lost of continuous photography then standard Nimh or single use lithium are best. But if for the odd photo and leaving camera sitting around, then the hybrids are better

    Cheers all
The cameras I'm looking at are Fuji bridge cameras and they take 4 x AA batteries, that's why I thought about rechargables..

Also, what about when using HD video mode on the Fuji? Hoping it wont empty a rechargeable (or Duracell for that matter) in a couple of minutes? :o
