Can anyone recommend a decent battery charger that also charges the 9v rectangular batteries as well as the AA/AAA.
    Thanks
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

I have a Murphy model KB-38PP and it does all 3 types, mind you it must be at least 20 years old by now so the model number probably wont help.

Same here, I was using the best recharchables that I could get and they still would not last more than 20 clicks of my digital camera.
I too use Lithium and get well over 1000 clicks for each pair of AA's
Could this be that 2.4 volts is on the threshold of what your camera will happily operate on?

i use bog standard Nimh batteries and a bog standard NiMh charger

they last ages, on the shelf and in use - get 2500mAH or bigger

    and the're cheap (cost effective)

    cheers

If that was the case, then the camera wouldn't operate at all, as all batteries drop under load, so 2 x nimh would be about 2.2v. alkaline batteries would be about 2.2v - 2.6v. Which is why lithium are better, then tend to be about 1.5v under load.

If they failed after 20 clicks (pictures?) its very likely you weren't charging them fully.

OP Whatever batteries you buy you will need a decent charger. Don't assume timed chargers are correct for your batteries.

No rechargeable battery can perform to specification unless an intelligent deltaV charger is used which individually manages and monitors each cell to optimise battery life.

Unbelievable - you use a 20 year old lump of crap and can't understand why the best rechargeables don't last in your camera!

You really should not be giving advice on using rechargeable batteries because using a good charger is very important to get the best performance out of any rechargeable battery.

A good quality intelligent deltaV charger can be bought for about £10 e.g. here

Show me where in my post that I said that was the charger that I used to charge the batteries that I used in my camera, I just said that I had one and nothing else, you seem to know everything though.

As my father used to say, children should never jump in unless they know how deep the water is.

To be fair, the fact that you mentioned it in relation to another post, would suggest you use, otherwise why mention it at all.

It is obvious to all that you were not fully charging your batteries though - 20 shots!
