POSTGOLDFORCASH in Liquidation

For example a small independent, family run jeweller on my high street offered something in the region of 6 pounds per gram of 9 carat and 13 for 18ct. Surely this is a very low price?
Bullion spot price is currently £865/troy ounce
Divided by 31.1035 gives £27.70 ish/gram
9ct is 37.5% pure, so (27.7 * 37.5) / 100 = £10.40/gram AT SPOT BULLION RATES
Then the shop needs to transport, smelt, make profit, etc. £6/gram still sounds low, but hopefully this'll give you a guide.0 -
What exactly is your issue with Hatton Garden Metals?
The link you provided appears to be an issue that a company called TaxFreeGold has with Hatton Garden Metals about copyright infringement, specifically to do with Krugerrands.
Do you have Krugerrands to sell?
If not, what is the relevance of the link?
In your Google search for Hatton Garden Metals, I'm astonished that you didn't come across this thread on this site:
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2084905
There's 53 pages of posts.
I'm sure you'll be able to make up your mind - one way or another - after reading through that thread.
Why the need for such an emotional response?? I am sorry but where they is smoke there ( can sometimes ) be fire. Why does Hatton Garden Metals feel the need to steal copyright ? Also I can't get my head around the fact that on the Hatton garden metals thread there are so many first time posters - since you seem to be in the know as regards Hatton garden metals could you tell me the reason for this?? Also this link - taxfreegold.co.uk/hattongardenmetals.com.html - is on the first page when I googled hatton garden metals - it is not like I trawled through the internet to find it !!0 -

It wasn't an emotional response at all.
I have no idea at all why Hatton Garden Metals feel the need (if indeed they do) to steal copyright.
I am not in the 'know' about HGM so I am unable to tell you why there are so many first time posters on that thread.
However, should you wish me to hazard a guess, it's possibly that people Google HGM and find the link to that thread on this website, post once (like many one-post-wonders) and then never come back to the website.
I didn't say you 'trawled the internet' to find the HGM link.
I did say I was astonished (since you seem to be doing a lot of Googling) that you didn't notice the MSE link on Google as well.
On my first page, the link to MSE is there.
Good luck with selling your gold.
For most people it seems to be simple.
Send off your gold or take it into a shop on the high street.
You seem to want to make things very difficult by finding companies with 'problems'.0 -

To be honest I would consider myself to be a fairly savvy when it comes to money -hence the reason why I am on this site. But selling your scrap gold is not as simple as you make out. Especially if you are looking to get the absolute maximum price.
Anyways I have found a company I am going to send my gold off to and will let everyone know...
Also I started this thread about Postgoldforgold been in liquidation. Looks like they are still trading how come?? http://www.postgoldforcash.com/0 -
when I first sold my gold it was annoyingly difficult to find the right cashforgold company. However after trawling through many sites, my friend recommended a company to use cashforyourgold. I sent in some 9ct gold rings. They offered me the best price on the day after ringing a few places up. I received a phone call the following day, the guy I spoke to was friendly and offered the best price of the day. I accepted their offer and the money was in my account within 2 hours.0

Have you read post #18?0 -
So this thread was started by me on the 28.6.2013 and they are still trading ???
Did I say they were still trading?
I don't think I did.
I asked if you had read post #18.
That was posted on 1st July (3 days after you started this thread) and seemed to offer a different view about the notice in the Gazette that you referred to in your first post. No, in this case Postgoldforcash Limited appear perfectly solvent. The notice in the LG records the appointment of a couple of IPs from the wonderfully named Quantuma Restructuring and the fact that they have been "authorised to pay unsecured creditors in full".
Trading while insolvent is frowned upon and can lead to both civil and criminal penalties. However, the liquidators of companies can (and frequently do) carry on trading in some form, and in any case, as noted above, Postgoldforcash isn't insolvent.
But does it matter to you if they are still trading if you have found an alternative company to sell your gold to?0
