POSTGOLDFORCASH in Liquidation

Hi

I happened to see a gold pack from POSTGOLDFORCASH in WH Smith and picked one up.

The thing is after doing a very very quick google search -I was abit worried about sending my gold in the post. I found this page in the London Gazette which lists company liquidations and such.

I cant post links but..

Would it be still safe to send my gold to this company ??

Thanks

If they're in liquidation, I'd say don't risk it at all.

(The "they're in liquidation" bit should have set the alarm bells ringing, tbh.)

The fact that you even had to ask is worrying.

The whole cash for gold thing is ridiculous anyway, it's just a more anonymous way for scumbags to flog stolen gear, innit.

Post Gold for Cash have dreadful reviews all over the internet and in fact had a complaint made against them, by Tesco in 2012, upheld by the Advertising Standards Authority.

What the hell WH Smith is doing associating with these shysters is absolutely beyond me. They're even daft enough to advertise them on their own website, presumably because they're getting a nice fat fee as compensation.

If you want to sell your gold, have a look at this MSE guide:

Ask local manufacturing jewellers about selling your gold for smelting, you will get better offers than the mail-in sheds who hide behind bogus terms and conditions. If you're in Birmingham or London go to the jewellery areas and you can get upto 98% of the spot price for bullion, or other decent offers for 9ct etc from people who really know their stuff.

Here is the link in case any one was looking for it. Looks like they are going down the swanny. The fact that they look like they are still trading is even more interesting... but I will leave that to others. http://www.london-gazette.co.uk/issues/60504/notices/1823603

Why would you even ask this? Why, for one second, would you think it would be a good idea to send your gold to a company going into liquidation? Is this a wind-up?

Well I thought it was very strange that they where still advertising their services on the internet and even a few weeks ago they still had there envelopes in WHSmith.

IMHO they cant do this as the business is winding down.

If some one with legal/accountancy experience could shed some light on this i would be most greatfull.

    Thanks

    What?

I saw a Saab driving down the road today but the manufacturer no longer exists... What relevance is a few envelopes left lying around in WH Smith.

Legal/Accountancy experience has no bearing on this at all.

You have had the answer to your question repeatedly already. In case you missed it.... DON'T USE THEM.

Liquidation means their assets are being sold off and company going to be shut down. Stay clear.

They're in voluntary liquidation, which means you should be paid, but I still wouldn't take the risk.
