Whenever managing a site or designing it you end up making amendments and if it's not done using a programme it means your handcoding it or creating designs/graphics which I'd class as the grunt work.

The UX designers do the designing and they manage/write the content on the site. Once they're happy with something, they give it to the coders who actually make the changes.

I presume it varies company to company. Some will, some won't.

If you see a UX job that requires a detailed working knowledge of photoshop or illustrator it's fairly safe to assume they would.

Me neither. I have seen a job about parking the cars at auction, but there may have been more to it. Don't know that the job was close to me though and it's the only advert I've seen.
